      Hi Luanee,

You did a marvellous job updating parents here of schools which have reduced intake.
      :thankyou:

      Any school increase?

      Teck Ghee
      Bukit View
      Lianhua
      Bt Panjang
      West View
      Zhenghua
      Boon Lay Gdn
      Jurong West
      Xingnan
      Anchor Green
      Fernvale
      Zhonghua

And there is a new school in Bt Merah area : Cantonment Primary

Thank you sc88, I have found the answer to my questions. Basically, if the elder sibling did not complete the Primary with the school then the younger sibling cannot register under earlier phase.

Saw Bukit Panjang increased its vacancy by 30! How do they do it? I thought they also have partial session. :?

          Jav,
If the older sibling did not complete Primary education in the school of choice, younger one can only get in under Phase 2A2. Phase 1 is for younger siblings who have elder siblings STILL studying in the school.

Not according to treenymph which replied earlier leh… aiyah, I don’t know how to highlight the text from treenymph’s here.

Phase 2A2 only for elder siblings which has completed the P6 with the school. Anyone else want to verify?

Not sure if this question has been asked.

Is the no. of vacancies listed for Phase 1 = total vancancies for the new Pri 1 intake for that school?

e.g. if there are 300 vacancies. And 100 are Phase 2A applicants and all alloted, so only left 200 vacancies rolled over to Phase 2 B and C etc?

The answer is yes, vacancies listed for Phase 1 = total vacancies for the new P1 intake.

So, yes, using your above example and assuming 100 seats are taken for Phase 1, 2A1 and 2A2, means there are 200 seats left for Phase 2B and 2C, each getting 100 seats equally.

They will update the vacancies status at the end of each phase, usually by about 7.30pm on the night of the last day of that Phase. Speaking from past experience. Hope that helps.

                  Thanks 25hourmaid. 😄

Can anyone shed some light how is balloting conducted in any phase? Is it like a public lucky draw where the hopeful parents would sit in a hall and await for their child's name to be picked?

And also e.g. if we can get in Phase 2B where balloting is required for both <1 and within 2km. Maybe 100 vacancies avail, and 200 apply. 100 happen to live in <1km. So does it mean all vacancies goes to the 100? or are the vacancies allocated 50/50 to both groups?

This P1 reg thing is really killing me. :?

Don't panic, help is here from every angle at KSP. 😎

Sorry, cannot help with how they conduct balloting for each phase as I have never been through that, so cannot advise on that.

As for the second part of your question, assuming there are 100 seats for Phase 2B. 70 live within one km of the school, 80 between 1km to 2km and and 50 more than 2km.

The 70 who live within 1km will get seats to the school.

Balloting will be conducted for the 80 who live between 1km to 2km, means 80 fighting for the remaining 30 seats.

The 50 who live more than 2km away, sorry, no chance even for a ballot, will have to try again for Phase 2C if they are still interested in applying to that school, but chances of getting in at 2C is kind of slim if there is already balloting for those between 1km to 2km under 2B.

                    Hope that helps.

Yes, school will inform parents eligible for balloting of that particular phase the date, time and venue of the balloting. Parents can choose to be present or not to see the ballot and know the results. It can be quite a long tedious process, depending on vacancies available for the ballot.

                      Hope this helps.

I checked with the MOE Staff and was told that :

                        Phase 1

Sibling STILL STUDYING in the school of choice

                        Phase 2A1

Parent is a former student either graduated with PSLE or Primary one or two etc with the Examinations Results on the Report Book + Joined Alumni within the given time .
***Parent Report Book + Alumni Letter ***

                        Phase 2A2

Sibling or Parent with Examinations Results either graduated PSLE or Primary one or Primary two examinations etc stated in the Report Book as above just without Alumni .

***Only Required either Sibling or Parents Report Books.***

However, if like nowadays Primary school without Primary one Examinations and thus if no Report Books given by the school and the child studied half year or so , NO PROOF OF REPORT BOOKS WHICH MEANS NOT ENTITLED TO ANY PHASES ABOVE. 😢
