Post surgery I only know 生鱼汤…last time it has in the form of chicken essence, convenient pack.

Went to SS today didn't see fresh chicken. Guess wet mkt will have better chance.

I don't bother the fresh chicken, now having hot pot buffet dinner with my friends at Liang Seah Street, Bugis.... :imcool:

Any recipes for post surgery tonic soup? I was told by tcm avoid chicken eggs and peanuts post surgery but then why chicken essence is ok.

Black chicken essence
Chicken with birdnest
Chicken with abalone and red dates
Chicken with fish maw and sea cucumber

Also can try millet with ginseng porridge if want to eat light.

Yes, tcm advice so as apparently eating these food will grow “pus”.. I’m not sure if it’s true but that’s was what I was told. There’s fish essence, it doesn’t taste as good as the chicken and is a lil fishy. As long as it works.

Chicken eggs I don’t know…but chicken after surgery is ok to me. After Caesarean, I consumed chicken everyday for almost 2 mths. No issue with wound recovery.

Not easy to replicate what I tasted in the Peranakan restaurant we visited & I can’t find the recipe. I’ve replicated it 1st time but I overlooked the lime & used half a lemon. I’m quite hard on myself I guess. Doesn’t taste the same. I thot my garden still hv lime growing on it but we used faster than they grow. I must propagate ano pot.

My family find it too spicy coz I took the wrong chilli. As my chilli turns red on my plant, I just harvest & forgot to check the variety I picked fr the lot I kept in the fridge. Will make again tmr & surely get the lime & be light on cutting the chilli (the right one).

It’s nice with light brown sugar & vinegar. Overall, hubby says appetizing. Comforting hor.

Thank you...taken too much meat and prawn...too full and cannot sleep...
