That one is level 1 only.
If you want to up the level and hit it out of the stadium, go learn 变脸.
Oh I love 变脸!!! But very hard to find 师父 to learn leh....then stress again...back to square one. 😂

Why did MOE think that reducing no. Of graded subjects will reduce stress? Now my kid has to learn 3 extra life skills - swallow sword, breathe fire and 变脸 just to differentiate himself from the rest. :rotflmao:

The selection of the project has yet to be started. Soon.

Even if started, so what? The grading can change immediately without impacting the entry at all.
Maybe for the 2022 jc1 who is repeating jc1 in 2023. He would have done pw in 2022 and will be receiving his grades soon.

And for the 2023 jc1 who have chosen their 4h2 subjects, do they now go into an exercise to select which h2 to drop to h1. And then the school to redo the timetabling? I am assuming h2 and h1 dont attend the same lessons, I dont know for sure.

…. Such kids may not get RP90, but RP70 plus X factor may be within reach?
1) 90 RP is 20 20 20 for 3H2s and 10 for GP (plus 20 from 2 more subjects)
2) 70 RP is also 20 20 20 for 3H2s and 10 from GP (plus X factor)

The 70 comes from the same “source”.
Unless we are assuming that for group 2, because I spend time studying for only 3H2s and GP, there is a higher chance of me scoring 20 20 20 10. Otherwise if I am not academically inclined, you give me more time to study, it remains unlikely I will get 20 20 20 10. Before the university even get to read page 2 where I list the X factors.

They finally realised that PW is useless but no gumption to remove it totally. ...
On one hand want to emulate the project/research aspect of IB, on the other hand don't have the expertise to do it for every subject. So create a PW .... 🤷
That's what I feel too!! I was so shocked when I realised that school mentors are often not subject experts...

For the top students, do take note of the changes to KI.
Was told by KI/GP teachers that the really top ones do GP.

These are the JCs currently offering KI. I wonder what will happen to their KI Teachers after 2023 since GP is compulsory subject instead of KI.

Raffles Junior College
Hwa Chong Junior College
Eunoia Junior College
Temasek Junior College
National Junior College

ACJC stopped offering it since 2022.

KI teachers teach GP too. So they will not be made redundant.

Precisely, JC1 is a transition year and JC life is a short 2 years, it would be good to foster good working relationship with a group of friends in the course of doing PW. Think positively about it and build better friendships in a team. What I noticed was that even when 2 personalities could not get along at first, they would try to get along well and complete the project with a common goal in mind. It is an essential skill to develop. This is definitely superior to the \"cancel\" culture some cliques have. Actually PW is good for JAEs, they assimilate faster into existing cliques. MOE always thinks ahead.
If u are coming in from the O level track,

JC is effectively a very short one year 6 months period, unlike the IP students.
