Thanks tankee for your reply:)yes, you will receive a letter from the school certifying your qualification for registration in phase 2B.
Most schools issue the letters in early July after schools re-open. Be patient as along as you are sure that you have met or exceeded the min hours.

we're getting quite worried about it as its our 1st child...
Btw can i check with you if grandparents are of the church, can grandchild be given any priority? cause my friend told me that his parents got the recommendation letter for the child..and both his wife and him is not a member of the church..
??? -
2 bb princess,
Don’t worry. As long as you have met the hours required, that letter will arrive in your letter box.
As for recommendation from church, grandparents who are members of the church, grandchildren are not entitled to the priority.
Phase 2B:
For a child whose parent has joined the school as a parent volunteer not later than 1 July 2009 and has given at least 40 hours of voluntary service to the school by 30 June 2010; or whose parent is a member endorsed by the church/clan directly connected with the school; or whose parent is endorsed as an active community leader. -

Don’t understand why some schools increased no. of vacancies when all schools are to be single session in 2016? I think my ds1 has no luck to get into South View :~(

Yes, from what I heard, some schools will be cutting classes to meet the 2016 deadline of single session. Parents with young children not due for P1 registration yet will have a tougher time getting their kids into their school of choice by then. -
Hi,
I have a daughter who will be registering for P1 later next month. Unfortunately, her registration will fall under P2C. I live within 2km of CHIJ Toa Payoh, St Margarets Primary and Hong Wen Primary. Which would you recommend if the places available are about the same?
Thanks in advance to those who can value add to this nagging question.

I would think along these lines first. CHIJ TP is a Catholic school, St Margaret's is Anglican and Hong Wen is secular. Is a religion based school important to you and your family?Hi,

Secondly, do you have a boy or a girl after this girl? If the sibling is another girl, then either CHIJ TP or SMP are both good choices, but I think your answer to Q1 would have to be answered first before you make a decision.
However, if the sibling is a boy, then perhaps HW might be a better idea since it would save you some headache when the time comes for registration of P1.
Lastly, HW is a SAP school. Are you okay with that? -
Hi all,
There’s 2 dates that we need to register our kid under certain phase rite? Does it matter if we register earlier or later? For eg, under Phase 2B, the registration date is 22 and 23 Jul. Does it affect my chance if I only register on 23 Jul?
TIA!!! -

Places in schools are not allocated based on who registers first. Hence, it doesn't matter which day you register. -
