Hi, my gal gotten al6 and plan to place rgs as 1st option. Since 6 is the cut off point, there is a chance she won’t get in correct? Historically, what would be the fall out rate for those even meet the cut-off point since rgs is highly oversubscribed every year I pressume …

Hi, congrats to your girl's stellar results!

I think nobody will be able to tell you about the chances of getting into RGS with AL6, except the school or MOE.
Personally, I believe the chances are quite high especially if you're a Singaporean because balloting prioritization.

In case your girl is balloted out during the S1 posting exercise, you can still appeal to RGS after the S1 posting result is out.

Thanks. Yeah, I guess my question was quite silly to begin with . Haha.. anyway, we will put cedar girl ip as 2nd choice and in fact, ok with this too. If can't get into rgs, should not be a problem getting into cedar girl and will accept it.

We are in a dilemma on which school to choose. Rgs is nearer to my place. Just one bus ride plus walk which takes around 40-45 mins but nygh is much further away. We prefer rgs due to the distance but dd went to the open houses but prefer nygh. Any advice from parents from rgs please?

NYGH isn't that far from RGS, but I guess the transport links make that difference, depending on where you're coming from.

What about NYGH does your daughter like above RGS? Are they more surface things, or based on a very small sample? Personally, I think that in most things, a student will always grow to love the school she's in, whatever the first impressions she might have. Once she makes friends and gets to know the school she will probably love it too. But she needs to have an open mind and be willing to invest in the friendships and activities.

Thank you. Guess during the open house the ny girls seem more friendly and approachable then the rgs girls. they also did a better job \"selling\" their school.

we didnt got chance to visit their open house but yesteday we drove around that area, from outside view already "wow"… maybe because of the new modern design… hahah
