Hi,Hi,
Anyone can advice how to prevent the children to rub the eye when they are fitted with the ortho-k lens at night?
Anyone try using eye shield/ mask? :?
Thanks.
yes, it's indeed a problem if the kid keeps wanting to rub their eyes when they are wearing the lens. However, i dun think wearing eye-shield/mask will help coz the itch most likely is from the inside of the eye. For beginners, the kids will definitely feel 'itchy' coz they are not accustomed to having something in their eyes. What i do is to let him hold a small moist soft towel for him, ready and handy for him to wipe the eyes gently. Usu they are itchy only in the beginning, ie immediately just after the lens were fitted in. After a few rubs with the moist hanky, it will be ok.
Please ensure they rub gently, and not vigorously - lens or no lens!
Also, when you put the rewetting liquid, make sure he does not have to stare into bright lights at the ceiling, do it in dim light and again, have the wet towel handy for him so that he can wipe off the excess and soothe the 'itch'. HTH -

My daughter is on ortho-k for a week.
Tomorrow is the check up day. I wish that her degree can go back to 0. -
Hi
Will the usage of myopia control lense (top 1/2 for seeing things at a distance and bottom half of the lense is for reading purpose) help to slow down the rate of increase in degree?
Any comment?
Thanks! -
for child or adult? :?

I believe you may be referring to the MyoVision lenses recently in the news - http://news.xin.msn.com/en/singapore/article.aspx?cp-documentid=4038363
Seems studies have shown that it can help slow down the progression rate of myopia. -
Hi Tankee
For my 12 year old son. -
Hi CMF
I am not aware of the Myovision product.
I heard abt the optical control lense from the opitcal shop which i visited abt 2 years ago. But not sure what brand.
This Myovision is a pair of spectacle and not contact lenses right? Do you hv any idea?

MyoVision are lenses that are to be used on spectacles. I understand that it works like those used for adults for long sightedness, ie. bottom half is used for near reading and the top half is used for viewing distant objects.
