Some schools insist on a parent buying a violin too. Plse go Synwin first and ask them to play on their student model and hand-made model. I think for a full size violin, u may want to invest in a better quality model. Particularly, if you develop a fondness for the violin. No harm checking out the violin at Synwin first

I called all the schools... Mac, Mandeville, Crestar, Sempi, etc. They all start ard 3 years old. No more at 18 mths ... Anyway, I figured she should start formal lessons when her attention span is longer than 10 mins. For now, her music lessons are my lessons. Tat way, we can both learn

I was planning to start only at 2+. Around 30mths.

we were surprised that he could too. maybe he's been observing more than we know.

That chocolate box is from Austria - a Mozart Choc box.- empty already of course - we ate it all. My daughter brought it back from a competition trip to Vienna 2 years ago.

I do have a violin. A 3/4 for myself. I loaned it out to a friend for her daughter to use while I was pregnant.

Apart fm Synwin that I'd mentioned in another post, Gramercy is another reputable shop. Heard their lutheir is among the best in Spore.

Oh, it was just a choir competition with her school. That was 2 years ago. She just came back from another competition from Russia with school. Now getting down seriously to studying for her Os already. my family's age-gap v large. haha!.

I saw at Esplanade Store that their 1/64 is S$99. From experience, i don't like their cheap bows though - quite low quality compared to Synwin's S$20 bows.
