Hi, jiyou2003softmatsg:
Ok, so let's start talking about CCA in Juying. I still try to understand the whole concept and I would be glad to discuss it.
Dear all,
I like to know more on CCA in Juying too.
Would like DS to join scouts (at least i will not be so worry for his NS). He is thinking of badminton (which he dont play yet).
CCA is not compulsory until the child reaches P3. However, I believed the child can participate in some CCAs when he/she reaches P2 (eg. Robotics). As for badminton, the school usually have a 'selection' test done by an outside coach. Hence I think for the child to be selected, he/she must already have some knowledge/skills in playing the game.
Hope this helps. -

You can teach him yourself (if you can play and know how to teach)

Otherwise you may try for private classes, or alternatively, you can sign up for classes in the CC. They are not very expensive but the group can be very big.

Hi Jiyou2003,
You may like to consider the badminton holiday course for children at the Jurong west SRC from 15 June to 18 June, 9-11 am. Its a four day course at abt $40+ and the class size is not too big.

I guess in every school there is bound to be a mix of well-behaved students and rowdy/rude ones. More often than not, it is us - the parents, who already formed an 'impression' of the students of a particular school when we see how they behave in public. But what we see may be just a handful of students who exhibits particularly good/bad manners, but it doesn't mean that the rest of the students in that school behave the same way, right?
Anyway, I'm sure most parents staying in JW and currently selecting a primary school for their kids would probably know by now that Rulang and WG is likely to be beyond arms' reach, especially if no PV work is done (even if PV work is done and residence is within 1km), there is no guarantee of a place, especially for Rulang...I think the next best thing to do is to select the school based on location (convenience), or perhaps finding out the niche of the school - i.e. what specialty the school has that perhaps can help your child build his/her interest.
Just my 2 cents worth

Hi there!
Are there any kids from Juying Pri who goes to after-school student care? Any comments or procedures to go about?
My daughter will be in Pri 1 in Juying and I am thinking of putting her to after-school student care. At least she wont be idling or watching tv whole afternoon till i come home.
