All About Diamonds

Tiffany has nice designs although not copyrighted I'd think. Larry's is the go-to name apparently. My engagement ring was from Larry and this lady has had so many referrals from us, me thinks we should get her to give us a huge discount for my 10th year anniversary rock. :rubhands:LKVM:
Which is the best store you ppl recommend for the diamonds? like they have good quality?
Tiffany & Co ? Larry ?
which cut is popular ? hearts & fire ? rose ? -
Another one De Beers.

According to the Larry website, they recommend Cut over the other Cs esp. when you do not have unlimited budget.
I agree too as Cut is the factor that provides the sparkles in a diamond. -

I think colour is most important.

I would say Larry’s too. for diamonds. I suppose it’s like a lao zhao pai for diamonds in singapore. the newer ones are big on marketing but not so sure abt cut and quality.
i got a small (ok small to me lah haha) solitaire lazare from larry’s as engagement ring. As wedding gifts, small pointer tennis bracelet from mum from dunno soo kee or lee wah (no money for larry’s), earrings from generous doting aunt, and a poh heng diamond set on discount from MIL. it looked great when we pang teh lor. bling bling bling! but not quite my taste. she only gave her own daughter a diamond pendant (total carat count much less) but from larry’s and nice design. so i guess it’s kinda fair haha!
I’m so happy I have a dd too - she gets to inherit all my splurges.
overall, i admit that diamonds really have no resale value, and the price is artifically kept high by the de beers’ conspiracy (there are many articles on how diamonds are SO COMMON but they restrict supply into the market at any one time to keep the prices high), but, I still think it’s nice as a token to commemorate an occasion, like birth of a child etc. my MIL agrees with me and our most passionate conversations / agreements are on the subject of diamonds haha! -

 Agree totally. Some of the threads here are not so \"healthy\" I am guilty of it looking at some of the stuff that I just bought in the last 2 months :!:
Haha it's a mix feeling. :moneyflies:
The scariest part is that you crave for it until you lay your hands on it  -

This thread is worse than the food threads, sigh ... Those are at least affordable :).
I like all the 3 Cs. If you're looking for standalone stones, you can specify all three includind the final cut, eg cushion, oval, etc, but be prepared to wait. I also don't like it if the table is too narrow cos you'll end up paying for \"depth\". From what I can see, ovals look the biggest for the same carat size.
Alamak, I better go over to the food thread cos over there, get fat only :).
