I didn't know yammie got a U2. I thought it's only U1, U3 & YU5.verykiasu2010:
we got a second hand Yamaha U2 10 years ago - fully Japan made (in those years it was 100% Japanese made) and the sound is very very good till these days and it has been trouble free
U1 is 48 in
U2 is 50 in
U3 is 52 in -

actually the price for a new U3 is $11k while that of a new baby grand is $15k…which is better ?

I read in http://www.pianoworld.com that because the action of a grand piano is gravity based, the touch will always be superior (meaning can play faster and better control) to an upright cos upright actions are always vertically based. But I guess you need to reach a certain level of expertise to tell the difference. I could never tell the diff
But in terms of tone (more oomph), was told that top range uprights will beat an average baby grand. But personally I feel that it's more fun and inspiring to play on a grand. My apt has no space to house a grand, otherwise I'll surely get one. So if you have the space, why not. -
If you want to get a grand, don’t get baby ones, they’re not worth the money (and the space), get an upright grand instead (eg Yamaha U5). Grand must be the proper 5ft at least

Hi friends, I wish to buy a piano for my little girl whom has just started to learn piano, I know the good brands are Yamaha and Cristofori…can anyone who owns any of these piano let me know which is better buy…? Thank you very much.
