This is so unreasonable ! I never had a teacher who cane students because of poor results before, not even when they failed.

I think caning is no longer allowed in schools nowadays ?

[/quote]in my memory, our teachers didn't tell us to get external tuition (or maybe i was blur back then :politebleah:). that was the time when we as pupils can get caned and didn't dare to tell our parents. so everytime after 听写/默写, my classmates will queue up to get caned on the palm; the cane had a rubber band on one end. if teacher forgot to bring cane, he would borrow long ruler. funny thing is ours is only a neighbourhood school (now already closed down), from my memory, quite a few of the classmates (around 10) got into schs such as VS, CGS, SCGS, CH (some of whom kena caned for 听写/默写 ) - most likely cos there wasn't any streaming of high ability class back then. OT already. :oops: :politebleah:
