buds:
For parents who have crossed the first hurdle, the time to worry will come again. But today we must celebrate :dancing:janet_lee88:
This is the first hurdle - getting into the school. We still have many more to cross.
First hurdle indeed! :celebrate:
janet_lee88 is right, many many many  more to cross.
To everyone registering @ Phase 2C, good luck! :xedfingers:
All the best to the rest

buds:
thanks, first hurdle down, next ones to cross would be when she is in primary school itself. but yes, i am savoring the joy.ImMeeMee:
Just called the school and the person said we are 'confirmed in' after asking my distance.
ImMeeMee:
Wow! ImMeeMee!thanks, i feel happy and relieved too. we have done a lot of groundwork to get here.
to those who are still in the midst of getting a place, whether balloting or phase 2c, all the best and hang in there!
:celebrate: :congrats: :celebrate:
Your worries are now over. Back to peaceful sleep, aye?

LKVM:
Wonder what do the PVs do. They must have a lot of work for PVs to take up. 100+ of PVs registered, means they have all fulfilled the minimum 40hrs.markfch:
I saw in the MOE website that some sch has either more than 100 or close to 100 P2B aplns. Since these schs are secular type, how is it possible to accept more than 100 PV in a yr?
They dont control the PV's  -
Just called up Nan Hua, 17 people outside of 2km balloting for 13 seats.
-
LKVM:
understand that some were NOT PVs but are grass root leaders, which are also under P2B. Schools can control, if they want to, the number of PVs, but not the number of GRLmarkfch:

100 PVs ???
Wow, won’t these PVs be ‘fighting’ for jobs to clock up hours ?
Not only that, the school also gets to enjoy ‘free labour’. The school can only control and decide the number of PVs, but never those from grass roots.
Daddy D,
She has spelling/听写 in her K2 class now, but don’t think it’s possible NOT to have spelling/听写, because for Chinese, children can only remember through writing…which I agree. -
janet_lee88:
My girl's K2 only has optional spelling for English, the chinese is super relaxed..100 PVs ???

Hi autumn,
Her spelling/听写 was supposed to start last term, but a number of kids like my gal, wasn’t prepared. So the teacher started only in Term 3.
I sit beside my daughter when she learns her spelling…most prob will continue to do so when she goes to P1 (maybe P2). Going to CHIJ TP, I think she will get to enjoy primary school life more as compared to older sibling who is in Pei Hwa. Chinese will be relaxed (in school) but I do not want her to slack.
Parents whose children have got a place in their school can sit back and breathe easier. As for others going for balloting this week and those in Phase 2C, I sincerely wish you all the best. Don’t lose heart if your child doesnt get to enter the school as this will affect his/her morale. -

Anyone knows how the balloting work?
Will the school ballot in front of you? Or they will do it then inform you?
