      Adetan:
      Herbie:

I just heard that a boy at SST who was very good in maths when he was in Primary school failed his maths at SST... i am wondering could it be due to computer games since they have their own computer so very hard to control.

After hearing that I am wondering whether I shld still bring my son to the open house on sat.
      :?

I went to SST Open hse today, initally my son is not so comfortable but later on, he mixed well with the students and are playing with them. Basically, students there are more hands-on than in the classrooms studying.
Understood from the students, most of their homeworks are posted in the eportal. More outdoor learning!
Kids will definitely like the ideas and teaching are innovative.
Before I go to the open hse, I hv no intention to send my son there but after the open hse, decision changed.
Immediately after the open hse, I applied DSA for him.

      Hi Adetan,

I couldnt go to the open house. But I did go for the talk sometime in april. And even before that what i had read about the school was good. On the visit I was pretty impressed with the curriculum and set up and the general spirit of the school. One nagging issue- 21st century teachings methods, future school - great but then 20th century testing methods - ie O levels ??
Why? Kinda defeats the purpose i feel.

      So confused.
Anyway I want DD to apply but she suddenly is not so keen . Will apply anyway and take the call if selected . Afterall, the new campus is just stone strow from my home šŸ™‚

              U r right
What NUSH is to NUS, SST is supposed to be for NTU

Main diff is it is not IP or its own diploma, its only for 4 yrs so
Kids go thru the usual Olevel

But is a future school, kids get their own Apple book šŸ˜Ž
small class size , very tech based, admission only thru DSA

Unfortunately DD was not interested

Thanks Sun for the clarification. Went to their website out of curiosity but still couldn't understand what they're all about.

They are not poly - bound........I thought SST keep emphasising they are not meant for poly only....They prepare the students for 'A' level too.
I think besides the IP schools, all secondary schools students are able to choose between poly and 'A' level right. Why keep saying SST is poly bound only???
