I did a comparison of the applicants and the final selected list. 3 of the 5 PRs did not get in. I guess the 2 ballot slips for citizens do work.


Hope those who didn’t get in will find a good school soon. The VP said MSH does not accept appeal cases for P1. They only take in transfers at P2 level, and the kid must take an entrance exam. They will select based on results. Those who want to transfer must apply to the school, fill in a form and wait till Oct 2011 when they hold the entrance exams to P2. In the meantime, the kid must study at another primary school.

Yes, you are right. The kids have to take an entrance exam which comprises of all the subjects. Only the top few will be selected.

BTW, does anyone know the definition of a "full school"? Why are some schools considered full school and some are not, even if their primary and secondary are in the same premises? For eg, MSH, CHS, CHIJ St Nicholas are full schools but not CHIJ Toa Payoh? Why?

A Full School operates with the same principal running both Primary and Secondary schools within the same compound. For MSHS their Term 4 school term is short, the boys have their end year school holidays earlier (almost 2 months holidays) due to the Secondary \"O\" level exam.

There were only 4 or 5 PR. I remember calculating the chance of getting in was at 95% after factoring in the PR.


And yes, the last one was a PR because the slip stated 1/1. For SC, it is either 1/2 or 2/2. When the last slip was drawn, everyone know there is no chance of a repeat since it is 1/1. There were a set of twins who got in too.

Actually - almost to the end , i was kindof rooting for No. 42 - cos the pple around me were all rooting for them also!! Kindof felt abit sad that they didnt manage to get in.

I was at 2nd column wearing a shirt with black and white checks, holding a rosary. Beside us was a lone old lady - there to see whether her grandson got in. She had an expression of calm. After the whole event, she asked if our son got in and said her grandson got in too, \"Praise the Lord.\"

Namie -- i was no. 40 - so YES - the 40s were not called much! My dad was with me and he also commented that how come so little 40?!!

Regarding 42 -- what happened was the twins were behind me and next to me was no. 52. So after the twins, 52 and me got in, the other person around us who were not in was 42 (it was a mum, dad and kid) and so i also dunno how come - but we ended up rooting for them to be in also!!

Yeah we were at the second row. But I am the hubby and the lady who heave a huge sigh of relief is my DW.

As I mentioned earlier, we were losing hope as it enter the last 7. So can u imagine when our son's name was finally drawn. I even tell my DW to buy some sweets for the boy who picked out my son's name. lolz...

Yup, I was there to witness the whole balloting event....and I couldnt agree more... it was nerve wrecking..

My son's name was called at the 22nd slot...so was able to relax abit after that...
However, one of my friend's son's name wasnt called until the 2nd last slot available....

Congratulations to Namie, Bigfoot, Viki, mum2jj, Lizzyho and all other KSPs.
