what's a full school?
See 2DMommy's post http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?p=226687#226687. -
mum2jj:
Why is it important to be a full school when you have the affiliation anyway? There are definitely pros and cons either way. A/W, as far as I know way back in the Victoria Street days, it has always been different principals and VPs.
Full school pros: So that people fr CHIJ TP Sec only can also apply for CHIJ TP Pri. Like St Nicholas / CHS / Maris etc. Currently only those who attended CHIJ TP Pri can apply at Phase 2A2. The old gals from CHIJ TP Sec not counted. But CHIJ St Nicholas accepts all old gals (either from Pri or Sec) at Phase 2A2. It matters.
I was from a near-to-home IJ at primary level (thanks to blur mom who didn't know about the importance of affiliation) but did well enough at PSLE to \"upgrade\" to CHIJ TP or St Nicholas... had I known the full school status would affect my future children's chances, I would have chosen St Nicholas...
Anyway, just being kiasu for my dd who is just a few months old! -
:congrats: to you all who got in.
Unfortunately, we were one of the 7 families who failed to get in.
So now, busy doing research for schools within Tampines.
Not sure if still a good idea to try St Hilda, since the odd is worse. -

If you are within 1km of St Hilda's, then do try. But if not, then don't. My fren didn't even get a chance to ballot at St Hilda's despite serving as a PV. Another fren recommended Gongshang Primary at Tampines. -
