The exam part I'm not sure. But heard from my friend her girl (now in P2) need to attend the supplementary class once a week. But, do these non-SAP schools offering HCL during P1 have HCL exams from P1, too? :scratchhead:
The Chinese HOD of my son's school said the students could be taught HCL at lower primary, but they would not be tested because the school was not a SAP school. -

How does your friend know that the \"supplementary class\" refers to HCL? -
qms:
For this part I do not ask her in details. Usually the school would put the CL or HCL pupils in different group.Brenda10:

I think most of the schools are working very hard to bring up the standard.
Last week, dd was given one of the neighbour school 2009 CA2 Maths test paper for practicing. Usually I thought the neighbour school’s paper should be easier but to my surprise the paper was even tougher than the other top school test papers that we practice. :!: -

Hi Brenda10 and verykiasu2010,
I agree with you but the teachers in school sometimes do not get them ready for such a difficult paper..or maybe they do not have the time I dont know so have to supplement with tuition then tuition also the teachers go very fast cos so many things to cover I dont know if it is the teachers or is it that the psle maths is just too difficult..even at p2 the papers are getting harder I thought p2 is more to learn and still have fun exploring?
How do you cope and help your child with this or maybe your children are already very good with maths? I need help :?: -

find some tuition centre that does it in small group, not more than 5 persons, so that some individual attention is possible
