I am learning English. So today channel 5.xana79:
pioneer primary .. guess i have to go another balloting again ... sigh
Xana 79, not to worry abt the balloting at pioneer. if you like pioneer and you stay near by, it is the right strategy. ( correct spelling? )not to scare balloting.
My First son was balloed out in 2007 under 2c at one of the hottest sch in Jurong west area. He was balloted out again at 2cs at pioneer. then posted to one of three not so popular sch. Study there for P1 and P2.
This year, he is in P3 at the sch he was balloted out in 2c. Doing well there. yes, he was transfered to this sch.
i only study until P6, started to learn computer 2 years ago.
If my son can do it, i'm sure you can also.

I can't agree more than this :goodpost:
IMHO, if PV/grassroots/clan & church memberships expect a guarantee place in the school, volunteering will lose it's meaning of giving without expecting return. If not given a guarantee seat unfair to volunteers, can we say it is fair to those who cannot find time (by circumstances, but not by choice) to volunteer?tankee:
PV, Communit Leaders, clan & church memberships, only give eligibility to register under phase 2B, not a place in the school.

vicki:
Congrats! :)
Yes went to Corporation and got the seat :celebrate:LKVM:
Hi LKVM, wondering hows registration today? Are u confirmed in liao?

vicki:
sooner or later, MOE will hv to re-look at PV scheme if the voices of \"unfairness\" gets louder & louder.
Err.... Scully later MOE listen to the parents and decide no more PVs allowed for 2B registration, aka, all will fall under 2C and 2B revert to only grassroots n clans/churches. Would there be another outcry?bluesky98:
So that's why i said MOE have to look into 2B between grass root leader and PVs. Imagine if you are a resident near by the school and it happen that PVs is not a guarantee can secure a place for your kid then one thing will come to your mind! go for RC member right? then who will secure a place eventually? this is something MOE should look into phase 2B and need a change. We parent as a PV need a fair treat.
Example: if one group of ten volunteers help to build a bridge for ppls to cross over the river and then later these ppls who had crossed over the bridge realise that this bridge no longer can take more than 5 ppls to cross due to the bridge structure is going to give way so another five will have left out so do you think is a fair treat? if smart enough you should know who are the five ppls can cross over the river RC or PV?
And also, there must be guidelines to prevent schools from abusing the PV system to get \"cheap\" labour. I've done my PV at wgps last year and was lucky to get a place for my DS during 2B but looking back at all the \"brainless\" PV duties, I really wonder the true meaning of PV (other than getting a place for my DS)..... -

easy for me to say now cos my p1 settle liao- but maybe do admission based on distance. But it may lead to creating ‘colonies’ around the island…
