For teacher's day, my dd bought gifts from UrbanWrite like cute little notepads and teachers day mugs.
At first, she wanted to buy flowers (you know those kind of cloth flowers) but I told her her teachers will not put those to good use and besides, it's tacky.
Then she suggested to get them mugs, so I agreed. At least her teachers can use them and it will not be a waste of money.
I asked my dd to handmake some cards for them too, as a small token of appreciation. I am sure her teachers will love the mugs and notepads.

Do you think hand cream is suitable for teacher?

I brought some pots/small Japanese cups and some potted plants from Giant. Also, a packet of coloured sand.
I have separated the plants and planted into the pots/cups. Put coloured sand on top -very nice looking to give away. Cost me about $3.50 per pot of plant. -
I surprise myself! Have almost decided to buy donuts for my DS' pre-school teachers today (Monday) but then how to buy donuts so early in the morning? So finally I baked tiny scones yesterday (Sunday) with 3 types of fillings and using cookie shapes cut-outs. Chocolate stars, cranberry hearts and raisin flowers! Put them into a round plastic container lined with a colourful paper towel and decorated top of box with a card and colourful stickers. Finally wrapped the whole thing up with clear plastic gift wrap tied with a ribbon and presented to his teacher this morning!
I believe Teacher's Day giving should be simple and suitably budgeted so that there is no un-intentional \"pressure\" on the teachers! Since this is the very first time doing this for my DS, I decided to DIY all the way!

Yesterday evening saw numerous of students searching for presents on Precious Thots and Popular Bookshop. Compare with last year, this year is luckier only needed to buy 2 instead of 4. One is for the form teacher (teaching English, Science & Maths) and one of CL teacher. This morning I also sent a greeting card to the form teacher to show my appreciation.

Tell you all something that make me so angry and very sad...
DD1's Form Teacher in CCC said to the class yesterday \"Must give me present tomorrow, otherwise Children's Day you won't get present from me.\" :stupid: :stupid: :stupid: :x :x :x
DD1 very stress and insist must give present.
I'm so sad that I still can't find another new CCC for them yet...

Not a bad idea. Will consider that for next year's Teachers' Day. Thanks
