fresh milk

daisyt:
Look at the ingredients when buying fresh milk. Brands like Pura and Greenfields, contains sugar. Certain brands, added calcium and other stuffs, mention, manufactured in Indonesia or Singapore. One part I don't understand, fresh white milk, one of the ingredients is flavoured. What flavour is added? :? I was quite shocked to see many ingredients in fresh milk. I thought normal full cream fresh milk, the ingredient should be only fresh milk? :? I am not talking about chocolate or vanilla or banana fresh milk. I am quite puzzled!!
I use Meiji or Farmhouse ( full cream) for the kids -

In fact, the sugar content thing, was brought to my attention by another brand promoter. But I did not buy her products because one of the ingredients is flavoured. -
There is naturally occuring sugars in cowβs milk also. So donβt be surprise to see sugar being listed on the milk carton of plain fresh milk as one of the nutritional values.

But what daisyt is saying here is sugar as one of the ingredients listed. It's an additive, and not the sugar that's naturally ocurring. -

The composition of milk differs widely between species. Factors such as the type of protein; the proportion of protein, fat, and sugar; the levels of various vitamins and minerals; and the size of the butterfat globules and the strength of the curd are among those than can vary.[31] For example:
Human milk contains, on average, 1.1% protein, 4.2% fat, 7.0% lactose (a sugar), and supplies 72 kcal of energy per 100 grams.
Cow milk contains, on average, 3.4% protein, 3.6% fat, and 4.6% lactose, 0.7% minerals[32] and supplies 66 kcal of energy per 100 grams. See also Nutritional value further on.
Donkey and horse milk have the lowest fat content, while the milk of seals and whales can contain more than 50% fat.[33][34] High fat content is not unique to aquatic mammals, as guinea pig milk has an average fat content of 46%.[35] -
Apart from Meiji and Farmhouse, the only other 100% fresh milk Iβve come across is the UHT Fresh Milk in packet drink form - useful for when Iβm out with my toddler and it keeps fresh in the packet for drinking anytime.

Based on my family's taste bud, Pura and Greenfields taste sweeter compare to Farmland and Meiji. So i guess is the different species of cows. -
Hmm....I like the hot one...hehehe

Yes, agreed.so far my kids have no problems with cold stuff. DS use to down a cup of yoghurt every morning. But for that I will take an unopened cup from the fridge while he is washing up. When he eats it, it's still slightly chilled but not cold.
was told dairy products breed bacteria very quickly, so I prefer to warm the milk over low fire in a pot when they are nursing a cold. No need to be steaming hot, just so that the milk is like room temp.
