Digit in hundreds place => 8 or 9maths6a:
Hi Can anyone help with this question?
How many 3-digit number combinations are there on a 3-digit number lock if all the 3-digits used are different and the numbers are greater than 800?
Thanks.
Digit in tens place => 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9
Digit in ones place => 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9
Since the 3 digits used are different, you have 2 choices for hundreds place, 9 choices for tens place(1 choice already selected for 100s place) and 8 choices for the ones place (2 choices already chosen for 100s and 10s place)
No. of combinations = 2 x 9 x 8 = 144 -

Area of ABC = 1/2 X AB x Perpendicular Height
Area of ADC = 1/2 x DC x Perpendicular Height
AB : DC = Area of ABC : Area of ADC = (1+4 ) : 2 = 5 : 2 -

Movie 1Please help me with this problem
cinema admission tickets for children were priced at $8 each.there were 20 more than girls inthe cinema for the movie. For the second movie ,the number of boys decreased by 10% but the number of girls increased by 5%.if there were 408 children at the second movie, how much money was collected from the sales of admission ticket for the first movie?
Boys : 20u
Girls : 20u + 20
Movie 2
Boys : 18u + 18
Girls : 21u
18u + 18 + 21u = 408
39u = 390
1u = 10
Collection for Movie 1 = (40u + 20) x $8 = 420 x $8 = $3,360 -

Hi, if I am not wrong M=64. The working goes like this :Hi Parents,
Here is a question fr my son's math assignment, which I think may be incorrect...need your advise..
The average of a set of 4 numbers is M. If 79 is added to this set of number, the average becomes M + 3. What is the value of M?
Thanks.
New average (M+3) = 79 - (3x4) = 67
Old average (M) = 67 - 3 = 64 -
Wow, thanks.
Was a little :? :?: with that problem. Couldn't figure out the connection between the working I had gotten, but you condensed it into two main steps. :thankyou: :thankyou:
