Heard that Nanhua sec, keep short or else, long hair must tie two pleats. I think its true because I have been seeing many Nanhua Sec girls, those with long hairs are with pleats. So cute !

Not if you're the one of the girls. Then, it'll be super embarrassing.

Oh, they cannot tie pony tails?

Anyway I always do french braid for my kid and I think french braid until secondary school should still look fine right? no?? :?

When I was still studying there, they prohibited long hair and pony tails. French braid is fine...if there is only 1 of them. My ex-schoolmate who was in dance, hated getting teased by others outside the school about her pigtails. She would have a ponytail on to go to school, dash in from the back gate to nearest female toilet and re-tie into 2 pigtails before exiting toilet. I wasn't in dance so I had the geekiest haircut possible since I don't look good with short hair.

My daughter has got short hair due to the recent hot weather but would like her to have longer hair when she turns 3.

My girl's hair has never been cut... she doesn't have much as a baby, but now she has this lovely natural curls that make her look like a doll. Can't bear to cut THAT  .

Wah...same here... my gal also have curls but only at the back... It's above shoulder length but when it's wet, it's actually quite long...hah... At the moment, I will only get my stylist to trim her fringe. I guess when she is able to sit still... will then give her a proper haircut...

...Chief, natural curls inherit from u or wifey?

            Natural curls from me 😉

fo12eal, her curls are mostly at the end. Still not thick enough to have a fringe.

my elder daughter was forced to keep short hair in her primary school time, since November last year(end of P6) she started to keep her hair, now she is happy with her pony tail hair style.

I kept my younger girl’s hair since her birth, until early this year( for 2 years), I have to cut her hair short, because she hates to tie her hair. and she sweats alot.

Very strange why school wants to dictate the kind of hairstyle spotted...is neat and tidy not good enough as a guideline? Interesting that French braid cannot be 2, must be one when plaits can be 2 and ponytail(1) is not allowed. Like you say, as teens with many adjustment problems, the school should be more sensitive to their growing up pangs.

By the way, I had long hair 90% of my life and schooling years and those years in school, all kinds of hairstyle could be spotted on me but no issue with my school as long as I did not appear in school unkempt.

Maybe because my sec sch used to be a very conservative chinese girls' school? However, when I went to JC, also a very conservative but christian school, we could keep our hair anyway we wanted, as long as it is neat and not dyed or highlighted.

Now that you mentioned, I remember all the nanyang girls that came to my school for immersion had a standard hairstyle....
Hopefully things have changed for the kids now. But I guess it is still very school-dependent.

Ha, ha...my DD2, abt the same age as your girl, also has not much hair as a baby and now with longer hair, her natural curls show! 😄 Not sure where the curls come from as both my hubby and I have straight hair. We did have her hair cut twice but now that she wants to keep her hair long, I only trim her fringe.
