          mrschan:
I have a daighter in scgs. She will be affected by this new initiative. Frankly i don't know if i should be happy or disappointed with the news. Yes IP is a preferred track for her but to a new JC with 2 other schools with little in common with Scgs? I am really not sure... just too odd

If she does well in her psle >260 i will still consider a rgs/nygs IP over a new JC/curriculum. Mayybe even cedar or mgs as they are partnered with more estb institutions.

Having said that, I guess it 's still good to have scgs IP as a fallback option
I'm disappointed in the SCGS IP arrangement. They seem to be sandwiched in a Catholic-SAP environment, in a new JC with no track record. I'd rather go MGS-ACSI or Cedar-VJC or NJC if RGS and NY are out of reach. But you are right about SCGS IP being a fallback option.

why can’t they lump the Cath schs together and do IB from yr5 on.

SCGS can lump with NJC since abt the same location and both non-religious.

It’s too early to pass judgement. The quality of students from scgs’ partners are really competitive. Principal and board of scgs have strong reasons to agreed. Mixing of cultures should not be too much of a hindrance to scgs girls. On a positive note, i see scgs girls benefitting from a bi-cultural enviroment.

As SC alumni and parent, I am disappointed. But I know I would be more disappointed if SC is not one of the 7 schools. I know how hard the school have fought for this IP status.
