hope you know by now your MIL treats you as her son
You know what, I never really see it that way until you mentioned. The thought of having another mum is both gratifying and scary at the same time. Well ignorance is bliss. I'll continue to be in denial mode

Actually it’s not quite possible to have another mother…husband’s mother is a mother in the name of law - Mother-in-law. Of course there are some lucky women who enjoy caring and considerate MILs, but how many ?

Those we have, see us as son-snatchers…mine here don’t even bother to visit her own son in hospital after his eye surgery with stupid reasons like she is old and don’t know where SGH is.

Today he still write them in small caps  And can still complain that he finds me very irritating & naggy.

Maybe he's aspiring to be ee cummings or Autumnbronze, our resident poet

            MMM:
I always tell my kids. Do you think I like to nag???? That is the last thing I like to do after a day in the office. It's so lame to nag. If you do your work properly and by yourself.... I don't even need to nag. I am nagging because you are making me nag. Not because I want to nag at you.

Same. But that's from me to DH.
I always tell him I was a ke ai nu ren until I married him.
Now I hate myself when I nag at him.
Aftter a day in the office, I'm so sick of my own voice, why use it to nag or complain about someone else 😐

              Hi markfch,

My hubby does a good job washing, drying and keeping the bowls/plates after dinner...so much so that mum expects me to do the same too 😢
Even my brother doesn't do such a good job washing up.
As for my SIL, my mum doesn't interfere. Once a week when both come back for dinner, mum will cook dinner for them and cooking more vege bcos SIL loves to eat vegetables.
              Hey janet_lee88,
My DH is a better cook than I am and enjoys cleaning the home and things. But the only snag is that he needs to be told, like a child. My mom loves him to bits. Always comparing my brother to him. Although, standing on the sideline, I can see that both men (DH & my bro) are about the same. Cooks, cleanoholic, likes to nua at home instead of going, jogs, does not smoke nor drink, watch sports channels....

My MIL is good about DH and I.
Always asking us to take time off for ourselves. Go movies, massage, dinner dates, holiday....
                It's DD she hoards after.
I wouldn't mind so much if she does not:

                a) mollycoddle DD
                b) make decisions about DD without consulting either of us (haircut, clothes, food, birthday, nursery.....)

Talk about 粗心大意, think my ds is one of the champions. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I've repeated the phrase 'First letter of a sentence must start with capital letter' at least a dozen times this week. Today he still write them in small caps  And can still complain that he finds me very irritating & naggy.

                  :offtopic:

think my ds can be your ds's best friend!

Haha Tree Nymph. So you can empathise with me.

But ds's best friend not like tat leh. Very focused and discipline kind. How come ds so unlike him? :?

                    Hi Duriz,

So it’s the child that your MIL wants, not the parents.
She wants to take over as MUMMY judging from you mentioned (clothes, food, haircut etc).

My BFF and I are polar opposites as well.

                        Yes janet_lee88.
Like I'd said earlier, she lived in a \"banana plantation\" (FIL, BIL and DH) for 30 years, she finally has a chance to mollycoddle a girly girl 😐
