Looks like this flood thing will become commonplace... read papers few days ago that PUB is looking for a meteorologist. I asked a friend of mine who has a PhD in that, whether he wanna try. He said they are just looking for someone to blame for the next flood. If that's the case, dun think anyone can hold the post for long...

So PUB is saying their own staff/system is incompetent all this time... duh... might as well just buy a crystal ball...

was in NY recently, they also had the once in 50 years thingy

NY only had 10 tornadoes in 50 years, and last thursday they had two in an hour…truly once in 50 years!!

Could the flooding be due to green-house warming?

Given that quite a portion of this country is reclaimed, drainage is entirely man-made and has to be very well planned indeed.

IMHO, those are flash floods caused by inefficient run-off of surface waters due to the cover up of all drains leading from the surface, plus the fact that there have been a lot of silt built up in the covered up drains, reducing its flow rate, hence the flash floods with tiny storms......once the storm is over the flood is over. Have you not noticed that ?
