for fish oil, the best absorption is when the EPA: DHA is in the ratio of 3:2

i got mine from Pharmanex for my kids.. its in capsule form but i put it into their milk but you have to introduce early la.. cos they wont know..if you give in the later part, they will feel the smell.. πŸ˜› hehe..

please also note that cod liver oil is different from fish oil.. i personally wont introduce cod liver oil for my kids.. heheh.. πŸ˜›

        Hi hi,

Has anyone used the Rhino Gummy Omega3? Was recommended that by the assistants at GNC? any reviews on it to share?

I've blogged about the supplements I give my boy and I'm hooked onto buying from http://www.iherb.com.

The posts related to supplements (covering multi-vits, colostrum, fish oil):

I give my girl the following supplements:

                  1. Nordic Naturals cod liver oil (Previously Scotts emulsion original flavor)
                  2. Childlife Colostrum

I am wondering if it is really necessary to give Vitamin C supplement as my girl loves to eat fruits. Anyone could advise on this?

                  Thanks!

if your child is takin fruits & vege on a daily basis, preferably spread out to at least 2 meals a day, then there's no need for vit c supp.

Actually, I beg to differ for my DS's case. He used to only take Scotts' cod liver oil. I have since switched to Nordic.

He eats fruits with oats every morning, after lunch, during his tea and after dinner. On top of that he eats healthy meals. Yet he fell sick ie cough and cold often after starting pre-sch.

However, after starting him on vit C and Sambucol, his immune system seems to have improved. One major difference I notice is that we have just returned from an overseas trip and he has remained 'sick-less' so far. :xedfingers:

So I think it depends on the the individual child and mummies probably have to monitor before coming to a conclusion.
