Share with you something that makes our blood boil...My sis has a very MCP husband and horrible MIL.

Speaking of MCP... OT a bit. :offtopic:

Chanced upon a supermarket in Yishun.
The sign read : MCP SUPERMARKET.

I made the error of speaking my thoughts aloud.
I said, \"Eh dear... how come you have your supermarket here?\"
I got a rib-shove after that loud thought awrite! :rotflmao:

I told hubby that when daughter grows up, I want her to be strong and know what kind of man she is going to marry. Please open 2 eyes and observe.

That's what my Daddy told me when I met DH.
He said:\"Keep your eyes open and your legs closed\".

        Wise words! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php

          RRMummy,

I do pity your sister for having a MCP hubbyโ€ฆhope she is bearing well overseas. Having a tough nut MIL is stressful enough, but a MCP hubby as wellโ€ฆreally jialat.

Yalor.. my poor sissy.. and to think that is something that will stick for the rest of her life and bears a constant reminder that she has no say..

women take in all this nastiness it in the name of love and peace for the family but really the suffering is only worth it if the hubs appreciates it.. in her case..not.. ๐Ÿ˜ข ๐Ÿ˜ข ๐Ÿ˜ข

Thankfully my Darling Dad is a very reasonable and wise man. He told my bro to forgo the traditional middle name coz really obiang and difficult to come up with a nice name..

            The one in bold...

You couldn't have said it better. :hugs:

:hugs: dear... ๐Ÿ™ our family treasure us as much as we treasure them ๐Ÿ™

I think our own personalities will decide whether we get bullied by our in-laws and husbands or not. If we are the quiet type who is afraid of speaking up, those MCPs and dragon MILs will get their way.

Not really larr dear. My personality is very outspoken yet diplomatic.
It's more a matter of respecting the elders. Hubs is extremely respectful
of mine, and as much as possible i want to render the same to his as well.
It is just really hard when he doesn't really get to see the side that i always
                  get.

In retrospect, children also learn from observing us... parents. My girls
can understand that aspect of respect. When the ILs try to feed their
minds with anything about me my girls will be the ones standing up
for me. Children are always observing.. they are always
listening, even when we think they aren't. ๐Ÿ˜‰

My girls are very sensitive and they too can understand what i had to
go through.. during tough days, they'd come gimme plenty of hugs &
say, it's ok mummy... we know... and we understand... we are here
                  for you.

That's why, with our new place the girls are sooo much happier. One
can just tell. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Who wouldn't love a place to call their own... :please:
                  cherrygal:
I will definitely teach my daughter to stand up for herself and never be cornered into situations like what some of the KSP sistas have suffered. My mom always coached me from her own experience so I have learnt to be tough.
At times it is not something that we can teach.. but more to what life's
teachable moments teach us. From my experience, i now know it is not
that easy... and it does differ from one situation to another. My daddie
brought me up to be independent and resilient, and yes stand up for
what is right, but not to the expense of being blatantly rude. Elders
                  are still elders.
                  cherrygal:
If DH wanna be mama's boy, then he should live with his mama and not get married.
                  :rotflmao:

The above is what SIL said to BIL before they were married..
during one of their quarrels. The conversation was heard by
MIL who was eavesdropping over the phone! Boy, was
she :!: appalled awrite! Her exact words were, \"Go hide
under your momma's armpits like you always do. Until
you're done hiding then you can come find me, that is
only if you still know what this relationship means to u.\"

Guess how far MIL will go in the next phase of her game. :faint:

Glad you're back with a firm stand.. :ugogirl:

Have your ILs considered renting a room on their own?
If your BIL insist on not taking them can 'offer' him this choice.
If you are around when talking to BIL, maybe can record his comments on your handphone secretly.. might come in handy someday..
