I always thought that RD is more for students and Times/Newsweek more for mature audience? No offence, but RD is too goody-two-shoes to me.
Some KSP has started their Upper Pri kids on Times/newsweek liao. -

Kids, I mention above, usually read the more interesting article like Science and Technology. So the magazine is more in-depth which might be more suitable to build up their English and General Knowledge. -

they normally send the subscription forms to the schools
normally schools have book fair or something similar, and inevitably there will be RD subscription forms
also, you can try calling +65-6258 1111, http://www.rdasia.com (not sure got student subscription via online or not)
