moons ago, when i enquire about porting my # to starhub, they say i will end up with 2 mobile #, is it still applicable now? or a straightfoward case of using the one and only same old ## but different provider??

again, please pardon this IT idiot.. :P[/quote]M1 will use their own number to open your account with them and you can use it IMMEDIATELY while waiting for the porting process which takes 1 day to complete

on your phone you will see the M1 number which is not your 'own' number, but calls can be made, which means you are simultaneously holding two working lines (one singtel, one M1)

M1 system will send sms to you once the porting process is approved an completed; and then all your outgoing calls will show your 'own' number, and anyone calling your 'own' number will be reaching you on M1 network. But this is seamless and is transparent to anyone calling you

if you are using iPhone, use : setting >> phone >> my number : change it to your own number, which is the number that you ported to M1

I use M1, ported from singtel, so example is M1. not sure about Starhub

we have finally achieved true number portability, not just merely call forwarding
