Does anybody know of any useful Higher Mother Tongue online resources for Sec 2s? For example, guides on solving certain types of comprehension question or dealing with the Summary and also composition guides too? Thank you for any help rendered!

Pardon me, but it seems like this is the wrong website to be asking for
such help (the word 'kiasu' is even in the address).
The situation is either,
a)parents don't know of such resources and are therefore unable to help
or even comment on your question
b) those who know most likely won't share them with you coz they
want their DD/DS to be the top, hence keep info to themselves (the
definition of 'kiasu').

The difficult part is to comprehen the passage and understand the questions for my child. Any good HCL assessment book to reccommend? Or any good tuition centre to reccommend? Thanks.

I also not aware of any guides on comprehension. As for composition, only know of model essays.

Maybe you can ask your child to approach the teacher for more learning tips and resources?

From what I see my dd has been doing (she is also sec 2), must read a lot eg. Chinese newspaper, Chinese readers digest, do review on Chinese articles, memorise words, poems ...

I am also looking for HMT assessment books. Ytd @ Popular Bookstore found 1 \"Mastering Cloze Passages\" with explanation of the correct ans and the other 3 choices. Its ISBN is 978-981-273-270-5, published by EPD Pan Pacific. But this is MT only.

I called Pan Pacific to check whether they hv compreh guide. The lady who attended to me said she needed to check with their Chinese dept. Hopefully sb will call me back soon with good news.

No compreh guide at the moment. The staff said she will feedback to the CL dept.

comprehension seems a problem indeed, be it not knowing how to answer the questions in correct format or how to shen ti, which is something like analysing the questions. Oh, the summary at the end is quite a killer too.

At present, I engage a tuition centre to coach my sec1 boy. The main focus is on cloze passages n compreh. There is weekly tingxie too.
