This should actually be P3 Maths as P2s have not learnt multiplication of 2d by 1d.

However, similar questions have been spotted in P2 Maths homework (with smaller numbers which they are able to multiply).

Wow. Maths question is getting more and more difficult now compare to two years ago. I remember at dd time, P1 (2006) to P3 (2008) were quite smooth except start from P4 then we need to monitor.

Actually this question is not difficult if they have learnt how to draw model diagram. P2 has learnt model diagram.

My son solved this question by applying the multiplication concept ie.

                23 x 7 = 23 + 23 + 23 + 23 + 23 +23 +23
                = 161
                Ans: $161 - $14 = $147

Any tips on how to learn this or do so? šŸ˜‰

I bought the book \"Step by Step Maths Problem Solving using Models\" for Primary 2 by Simon Eio and managed to \"educate\" myself somewhat on models!
