      snowman

I can empathise with you. Last yr when my girl was taking PSLE, yes, she had tonnes of past yr papers to do. I stepped in to stop her from going to sch 2 days before PSLE, sms & write letter to form teacher (guarantee her that I took over the revision at home). She gave my girl model answer for the past yr papers so that I can revise with her at home.

Now my girl in Sec 1 neighbourhood sch, pace is much slower than pri sch (elite). She gets to watch TV and sleeps at 10 - 11pm (7 hours of sleep).

It is not sour grapes that she canโ€™t get into better sch but at least she gets enough rest and have personal time and I am not so stressed.

Hi snowman.697, bear with it for a while, its only this PSLE period. Once its over, you have 2 months to rest and play. Jia you, drink some tonic, have more sleep in the weekend, take Vit C. ๐Ÿ˜„

Last night, I chased my dd to sleep at 11pm. Yes, I know its exam period but sleep is still very important. Without good sleep, how to have a fresh mind to take the papers?
Sleep is vital...a person who doesn't have enough sleep cannot function properly. Try to drink more water during this period and eat more fruits.
I dread to think of the year my son goes to P6.
A neighbour at mum's place told me her daughter in P6 goes to school in the morning and returns only at 4 or 5pm everyday ๐Ÿ˜ข

            You put it so precisely
            Sleep is vital.

Dont worry, as you are already aware of the pitfalls so you will be better emotinally prepared. Its not about how much effort the kid has put, how many rev papers he has done, ....
Lets not lose the bigger picture here

Those who are sleep deprived can lead to serious health problems. So even students who have finished ALL the schools past year papers but lack sleep can have migraines and cannot function during those few days.

Hi caroline3sg, don't worry, you not sour grapes. ๐Ÿ˜„ In life, thats always two sides lor, the good and bad. Some people say, keep them busy with school work and activities, they have no time for other nonsense. Some people say, don't worry, at this age, their energy level is high.

My girl still gets to watch our all time favourite HK drama every night, one episode a night, abt 45 mins.

If the mind is too tire then even you knows the answer but your mind just fail to retrieve it when you wanted it. Then when you come up of the exam room then bingo the answer flashers in your mind. :stupid:

                        Hi Caroline,

I'm so happy for you and your dd. You did the wise thing! Sleep is needed for growth and healing. My niece went to neighborhood school also and because the environment's pace suited her, she thrived and is Now in the top class. sHe told her mom she had never enjoyed study so much before.

Just as a good job-fit is important for us adults, a good school-fit is important for students. it's always 'chum' to be a square peg in a round
                        hole.
