Hello all busy and stress parents!

Oops! Maybe i am only one stress & worries mommy here:(

Yes. I would like to get a tution for English & Maths:( sigh!
I am looking sourcing for tution in Tampines area. For long long time. unfortunately, up today i still cannot fine a tution for my Pri.1 boy:(

I did left a message in KiasurParents (tutior in Tampines area) but no one reply me:( OMG! :stupid: :stupid: :?: :?:
Good tutors are hard to find and usually at this time of the year, they are swamped with students/parents booking extra lessons to prepare for the upcoming PSLE/SA2.

You might get better luck calling on the first day of PSLE of first day of SA2.

Also, for good tuition, you might need to travel. It's very common for parents to shuttle their kids all over Singapore for tuition/enrichment. I do see many students who travel from all over Singapore.

For english - you can consider centres in East point at Simei like Morris Alle or British council in Tampines Mall. For Maths, there is Maths arena in tampines. all these centre are pricey.

I used to think and still think maybe the best way for working parents is to have a governess for the kids (like olden days). The governess can then be in charged of the kid's teaching and learning, homework, etc. But where to find such governess? Maybe can consider offering such service

Have you tried Maths arena? Which programme did you enrol? Is it good?

recently someone has been advertising to hire a governess.

However, their expectations are so high, with long working hours but very little pay (gross 2k). They are looking for degree holder!

Degree holder gross 2k might as well give tuition - most probably earn more with more flexi hours. Probably possible if they consider degree holder from maybe Philippines??

                        Hi All,

No, I didnt buy the my home tutor series cos i thought doing assessment books will probably be much better. at least my children will get to practise on paper like in their tests and exams. Looking at the computer probably wouldn't help them - it feels more like watching tv...

To janice_0950: my boy is currently under a math home tutor, and so far so good with his results. but i live quite far from tampines so i'm not sure if his tutor will want to go to your place for tuition. i can give you the tutor's contact if you want. otherwise, you could request for a tutor from a tuition agency like what i did. but be careful with the tuition agency that you request from cos many are not doing a proper job. tuition centres are so expensive...hope this helps. 🙂
