      please help me solve this question taken from school worksheet

      How many different ways can Joyce match her clothes if she has 3 skirts, 2 blouses and 3 pairs of shoes? (ans: eighteen)

      Thank you.
      Hi liketoeat

      3 x 2 x 3 = 18 ways

      You can also list out and do different combinations you will also get 18.

        The length of a rectangle is thrice its breadth. If the lenth of of the rectangle is x cm, find the perimeter of the rectangle.(leave your answer in terms of x)

        is this way excepted?

        1 rectangle ---------> 2x + 2/3 x

        3 rectangle----------> 6x+ 6/3 x = 8x

        8x/3 ( 1 rectangle)

        is this accepted instead of 2+2/3 x?

        thanks

          Hi beauty queen

          I have raised this question in this forum before and confirm with the school maths teacher. Yes, you have to simplify 2x +2/3x to 2 2/3 x or 8/3 x.

                  Hi All :

                  Please help me with the following question.

                  Jane bought just enough money to buy 2kg of Flour and 5kg of Rice. If she bought 5kg of Flour and 2kg of Rice, she will have $9.30 left. In the end, Jane changed her mind and spent all her money on 7kg of Flour and some lollipops at $0.62 each instead. How many lollipops did she buy?

                  Thank you

                    Hi, DD working:

                    J : P
                    5 : 5 (Equal number)
                    8 : 2 (After Peter gave 27, John had 4 times as many stickers as Peter)

                    3u = 27
                    1u = 9

                    Therefore Peter at first have 5 x 9 = 45 stickers

                    Thank you

                      Hi, dd working:

                      A B
                      0.50 0.20

                      20= $10.00, 28=$5.60, Diff =$4.40
                      25 =$12.50, 33=$6.60, Diff =$5.90
                      27 =$13.50, 35=$7.00, Diff = $6.50 (correct)

                      There are 27 of 50 cents coin in box A.

                      Thank you.

                        cost of Flour = F
                        cost of Rice = R
                        Lollipops = L

                        2F+5R - 5F -2R = 9.30
                        3R-3F = 9.30
                        R-F=3.10
                        R = F+3.10

                        Total money = 2F +5(F+3.10) = 7F+15.50---->(1)

                        Jane bought 7F + 0.62L--->(2)

                        From(1) and (2)
                        0.62L = 15.50
                        L = 15.5/0.62 = 25
