Not biased or anything, generally Cristofori teachers are not great. Not saying that there are no good ones there (nor am I saying Yamaha has all the good teachers) but in most if not all music schools, it really is a matter of who your child gets unless the school’s really stringent in who they employ

          puzzle:
          Thanks to Pianojazzy and Tinkerbelle,

Any recommendation of good piano teacher there? Didnt manage to get weekend time slot from Yamaha after trying a few ctr.

          thks
          Hi puzzle,

Sorry, can't really recommend any teachers from Yamaha as I don't really know the other teachers other than my DDs teacher but her schedule's already full. Ya, weekend time slots are always popular so very difficult to get. Maybe you can ask them to put you on waiting list. Some students do defer during their PSLE year while others quit due to lack of interest.

          Good luck 🙏

            Hi puzzle,

Don't really know enough about Cristofori so can't comment much but I agree with jce. It all boils down to the individual teacher your child gets, regardless of which centre you attend. 😄

              Hi,

I’m thinking to send my dd who is 5 yrs old to learn piano.
Should I send her to school or home-based piano teachers?
Anyone can recommend a good piano teacher in Jurong?

                Hi,

Yes, totally agreed that it's the teacher and not the school that matters. but i've had friends who sent their children to cristofori and ossia, and came back with less than satisfactory feedback. in the end, they decided on a private teacher instead. personally, i sent my children to yamaha for music appreciation course, but when they were preparing for exams, we went for a private teacher too, and she prepared my children for all aspects of the exams, aural included.

let me know if you would like the teacher's contact. will pm it to you. 🙂

                    Hi,

I have some doubts here. My girl with Yamaha JMC doing BOOK 2 now. I was thinking whether Yamaha is a good place to stablise a strong n solid foundation for young kids? I am afraid she will lack of some disclinciple like posture, hand position, reading of notes which is weaker in a group as teacher never focus n emphasize on that.

But on the other hand, she picks up really fast, can sing solfege, play with both hands quite well n mostly enjoys herself with her frens there.

Now thinking whether to switch to individual as i m afraid she may play well but foundation not strong. not sure u get what i mean.

is it good to have both private teacher n attending yamaha at the same time to boost up both her reading n hearing skills?

what i mean by solid n good foundation is teacher didnt really emphasize on theory (which i think its very important), hand, body position n etc? My girl can play with both hands quite well but i m afraid she might be lacking the foundation as she goes along the way.

                      any comments?
