markfch, how do u find the cw class? i found that dd was not getting the min 1hr per wk cw exposure as promised by the centre.

Sorry php, what is cw class? Do you mean the TAS class?

yes..[/quote]When the classes were smaller (like only 4), I found that ds came back with more work done. But nowadays with bigger classes I realised that he has less coverage.

But still, I observed that he is learning things from the ctr. At this stage, I'm happy to continue as long as he's learning something useful. At p3, my expectation will be higher and I'll re-evaluate the available options again when that time comes.

          近朱者赤近墨者黑.

This is very true, esp in this year Hu3. So much so that the CL teacher is not interested in teaching too.

My boy got into fights this year becos of \"playful\" children who take his things or tease him. Some pupils also use the F word and gesture

I thought Hu is the 4th best out of 9 classes. So std should be considered as slightly average right? How come liddat?

My Daughter will be in Peace 1 next yr.

Yesterday went TiongBahru to buy uniform, PE attire, & name tag for her already 🙂

The vendor headoffice is in Tiong Bahru? Did you get the name tags immediately or have to wait for another day to collect?

Have to wait. Gave them my number to call once its ready too. But forgotten what is the tentative date they cited me for collection. Will call them up to check again tomorrow 🙂

It is very misleading to say HU is the xth best class out of 9 classes.

In SA1, the 7th class position pupil only scored 70% overall aggregate.

How big is the class now? When I enquired, the staff told me if the class is big, there will be an assistant teacher to guide the children. So the bigger class has at least 2 teachers now?

Hi Jennifer…thanks for sharing this info and wow this is really not what I have envisage…

Now I get worry for my P1 boy now if he ends up (which probably is likely cos his ave score for SA1 only in mid 80s) in the "mid range" classes…with the behaviours shared earlier …F word…take things without permission… am worried with the kind of influnece he will be getting plus my boy is quite timid…not sure if he can handle "bullies"

My son is quiet and rather mild-mannered. He was very upset in P1/2 when his friends called him names (he is born with cleft lip but has been repaired but the jaw isn’t operated on yet). Until now, he is still called names but I have advised him to ignore those kids. But at P1, I did inform his form teacher regarding the name-calling.

The top 3 classes are charity, faith and grace. The kids in these classes are busy maintaining their top grades…good in a way bcos they won’t be doing foolish things but very competitive. I told my son to ignore the troublemakers bcos he can’t do anything. Just focus and listen to his teachers.

I definitely hope that he can get into top 3 classes but not quite possible unless he improve tremendously in SA2…a more realistic target would be in Hope…

Will pray hard that he will have good classmates & teachers next year…

Yes, it's true that many PH pupils are with TAS. Though ds is k2, he got upgraded into the sat p1 class after a successful pre-enrollment assessment quiz. Out of the 7 kids in that class, at least 3 are existing PH students (that's how I got to know php personally). Not surprising as the ctr is at BTSC, so near PH.

The ctr's policy is to have a max of 8 kids per teacher. If a class has more than 8 kids (up to max of 16), there will be an additional assistant teacher to help out. But personally I find that as their classes are highly interactive, it is difficult to maintain control of more than 8 kids all trying to participate at the same time. DS seems to enjoy the lessons as he loves to talk in class.
