E3,

Thanks for the well wishes. Besides Tam, you should know that you are also one of our prime motivators here at PH 😄

      Trapwithin,
You hope your dd to read 金庸 novels? For me, I'm counting the days when ds will be ready to read 四大名著. Think have to count in terms of years though, haha.

Does the student edn count? If yes, wld be in upper pri levels provided PH continues to use those titles.

There is an international school behind Bt Timah CC, think it is Canadian International Sch.

I was on a bus going to Boon Lay the other day and passed by a construction site for Canadian International Sch.

Anyone aware if the current site of the sch is govt owned land? Just thinking aloud whether it is possible for the sch campus to be used as a holding site for govt sch in the MOE sch upgrading programme.

Sorry, what's edn? It'll be really great fun if ds can read these novels in upper pri. Being chinese, it''ll be a shame if ds remembers classics of english literature only.

            Just added:
Oh now I got it, edn stands for edition. I actually bought the simplified version of 水滸傳 & 三國演義. They are sitting pretty at ds's bookshelf. Simplified but still too challenging for me to read  . A few hundred pages of small characters with no pictures.

That is a state land but unlikely it will be used as holding school. The most likely location is at Toh Tuck, next to Bukit Timah Primary School. MOE has used this location for holding school for many years...RGPS used that many years ago too....But now there is a new location available, previous ITE Clementi....just a street across Bukit Timah boundary which i don't think the school will consider....

Hi markfch, what's your take with reading Chinese comics? I know some parents are strongly against it. You can try reading the 四大名著 comics. It might be easier to swallow. After that, move on to other versions.

Hehe, guess I'm also one of those parents against comics, plus ds never reads the same story twice. It must be a totally new story to incentivise him to read.

I'm trying to quickly move him away from picture to non-picture books (so comics is a no-no for me). I think non-picture books tend to deal with more mature concepts which requires deeper thoughts & analysis.
I think we can vote E3 as the President of PHPPS KSP Club....haha...so resourceful and plenty things to learn from her...

Aiyo... it's just 举手之劳. So sorry if I wrote too much or was very long-winded. It's my way of releasing some pent-up exams stress...;-P You won't hear from me so much during the hols... 😄

there is no parent support group in PHPPS. i think we should propose to Mrs Foo to setup this support group to get parents involvement and important to all, easier for us to make complaints la......since we already have the father support group, must also has a place for mummies to participate.....can ask her to arrow one HOD to take care of the group..... E3 will be the first President......haha....
Hey do keep me informed if there is a parent support group to join in PHPPS. Thanks! 🙂
