I've a personal issue that needs to be resolve soon. I'm anglican & ds attends sunday sch in the afternoons at my church (btw, I only go church nowadays cos of sun sch but that's another story  ). Somehow he doesn't gel that well in the programme. Think he's only going there to stop my nagging.

I'm exploring other places that offers sun sch and one of them is Glory. I know that sun sch there starts at 9:30am. Can a kid whose not in Glory kindy attend sun sch there? Can someone share more info with me on this?

Pls pm me if it's more convenient to do so. Impt to me that I encourage ds to attend sun sch when young. Thanks.
Hi markfch, fyi i've replied you in pm on this.

        dyh:

Since CH3 has 3/4 and FA3 has 1/4 through, that makes about 45 pupils from top 2 classes. That's not far off from Nan Hua (50) which I am sure has provided special training for their pupils...
I stand corrected. Almost half of Fa3 turned up. But...Bt Timah Primary seems to be the biggest group. Impressive!

Really? My son said only about 11 from Fa3 went through 1st round. So I guess he was wrong too. he said Gr3 had 10.

then i wonder why everyone seems to use BTPS as second choice. Also the intake each year looks miserable...not even 100%

            Hi Parents,

Will you be transferring your children to schools with gifted classes should your kids get through the 2nd screening ? A friend of mine told me her friend transferred her son to Nanyang gifted class and was shocked that it’s so relaxing there…compared to the amt of homework at Pei Hwa.

Only when confirm selected then we will talk about the options. Now, we just treat it as an exposure. Frankly, as long as we are in the Singapore Education system, I am skeptical about how relax a child can be. 😐

BTPS was my first choice until PH accepted my PV apln. I only sent one PV apln letter so mind was more or less set for ds to go BTPS. Was convinced by my ex-colleague whose 2 DDs are studying there that BTPS is a reasonably good sch. He said that BTPS is more or less united nations and due to the affluence of the area, students are mostly of 'good' background.

My friend is quite the fussy & kiasu type. So I was convinced that if it's good enough for him, it'll be good enough for me too. Actually in a way it's a pity that a sch who produces so many good students at lower pri stands to lose the best of them at GEP.

It is indeed a very good school. Just that the competition for student around this area is just too high. Location wise, the other schools also have better public transport than BTPS.

As of P3, mine wears PE attire w/o skirt although some of her classmates wear skirts. At P4, according to my child, there are still have a small portion of the girls wear just shirt and shorts.
