2ppaamm, i feel jet lag already, reading about your travelling with 5 kids. :udawoman:I travelled with 5 kids to spend 3 weeks in the Western part of US when my kids were 1, 4, 7, 8 and 10. Seven of us had a lot of fun, though it was tiring most of the 3 weeks.
Key is to take it easy, may have to leave the hotel later, choose a hotel near the place you want to go, and enjoy the process. We took a direct flight to LA on SIA, it was about 14 hours. My kids enjoyed the flight was well.
We made another trip to Orlando when they were 5, 8, 11, 12, 14. This time, the trip was a little bit tougher because the flight was soooo long. We transited at Moscow and Chicago before we landed in Orlando. Very long flight and at the end of the flight, we looked flat out.

Heh heh... not so bad lah... looks like I've forgotten the pain. I have been travelling with 5 kids since the last one was one. It's always a pleasure.2ppaamm, i feel jet lag already, reading about your travelling with 5 kids. :udawoman:

They like to travel also. Maybe because they get to catch up with the television. No TV at home. Cartoon network is their biggest treat in the hotel. Ha ha! -
So Siong ah? I am travelling with my boys aged 6 and 9 next month to LAX, Tahoe, LV etc …Self drive …
what to do on such long flight ah? -

The thing about family hols is that we may \"grumble\" about how tired we are, or the \"never again\".... but at the end of the day, we forget the tough moments and remember the happy moments and memories. The little things that make the family complete.

As for the part in bold, I may just tweak it to \"it's always a pressure...\" kekeke...

This was great. I have plans to take my daughter for a 3 yrs kindergarten/ Pri School for her to build good English foundation. Still gathering facts and cost. Are all those your own children? Do you know the education fees, rental? I had lived and worked in San Jose 8 yrs back… so I think San Fransico is ideal because there is direct flight and plenti of talented Chinese there. Kindly advise.

Play games on the flight, talk to each other, read books, play with iPhone, write journals, go grab some nice tidbits from the pantry, keep asking for maggi noodles, drink nice orange juice (because mama always insists on plain water), watch more 14 movies on fast forward. So Siong ah? Most importantly for you, sleep. You'll need to drive. -

Yep, those are all my own children. Hm... I only know the tertiary education, and I only know a little about Stanford. Why go to US to learn English... curious. The English would laugh at the American's English, the Americans laugh at how the English have their hands all over their plates, and we Singapore don't have a clue about what they are talking about.
Just very curious. Why not send them there during their tertiary years? -

Does anybody have experience going on holiday in USA with two preschool children (K1 thereabouts?)
We took our kids (nursery and K2) to the US in June to visit some friends and relatives. Our first stop was Vancouver, then Chicago and LA. So a lot of flights were involved. The kids had a great time in general, but both fell sick with high fever. The fever was gone after some paracetamol and plenty of sleep.
Actually the first time we took our DD to the US was when she was only 10 months old. Back then it was easier as she spent most of the time sleeping in the bassinet on the plane. Now with 2 active kids, our long flights were saved by individual TV screens on board :celebrate:.
We will probably go to the US again next summer. Maybe go on a road trip along the west coast, or even visit Yosemite if they're strong enough to do some hiking
