... it's at Bukit Merah View near a temple, opposite Henderson Sec Sch... once u are around this area, you can find the block easily... because it is the only 1 new block among the rest which are more than 30yrs old.
I think I know the block you are talking about. It's beside the coffee shop with the famous teo chew porridge. Those new build for old people flats? MIL leave near there and some times if DS go to grandma house, I will walk with DS home at night cutting throught that area. now my hair all stand liaoRRMummy:
In 1988, HDB sent us a letter asking us to relocate. The reason was they were upgrading this block and the surrounding blocks. The whole block was cordoned off after all tenants moved out in 1989. I passed by this place many times and only in 1990 odd, HDB tore down only this one block and reduced it to merely green grass patches... but I wondered why the neighbouring one room rental blocks were not touched. They were only upgraded in 2000...
:!: Geez, maybe there were some 'dark forces' which prevented the place from being torn down...
Yes, please share where it is... must make sure I don't end up staying there..

My late mum who was 59yo, had no health ailment. She felt breathlessness on few days before we sent her to TTSH on 25 Dec 2008. On 3 Jan, docs said she was suffering from end stage cancer. And only on the 6 Jan, they said all scans showed she suffered from lung cancer, with cancerous cells in brain and liver. They started to treat her with a chemo drug on 9Jan, and that evening she fell into coma, passed away on 16Jan.
We had chosen those half glass panel coffin. We missed her badly because her death has took all of us so suddenly. When she was still awake during her stay in hospital, we had told her we would get the reunion dinner food ready, with shark’s fin and abalone…
We decided a 5days wake for her. All the 4 of us stayed through the 4 nights, my sis, bros and me would take turn in pairs to stay awake. One of us would sit next to the coffin to burn joss papers. Alot of times, we would even walked near to the coffin to look at our mum and talked to her.
On the 3rd evening, I could not do that anymore… There was a strong presence of the yin around me, even though my sis and bros were all with me. I sensed some beings were going round the coffin and praying their respects to my mum. My sis urged me to go near the coffin to burn joss papers. I kept shaking my head. It was only after sunrise, I told her what had happened. She brushed it aside. It was also at this time, then I dared to go near my mum’s coffin again.
I suspected what I went through that night is real. Maybe my late dad and grandparents have came to visit my mum, or maybe there were some curious onlookers then… -

There are \"onlookers\" as what I have always been told during a funeral. ...
Oh, so what I went thru that night was real... luckily I only felt their presence and didn't see them.... -

I believe it wasnt torn down because many (old) residents couldnt afford to move and also not interested coz they are so used to living in this area. That said, I encouraged my in-laws to stay until relocation, hoping to get priority when selecting the new flats.
With regards to the area being too ying, I suspect that the bad stuff could also be happening due to the higher concentration of residents from older age group, lower income bracket etc. -

:? err... what has lower income bracket got to do with the area being too ying?? -
RRMummy:
Sorry, the bad stuff I was referring to is not the ying stuff but all the unfortunate events that were happening to the residents (see below). JMHO, poorer people tend to have more problems.heutistmeintag:

I should have quoted this para when replying. Maybe there is a ying factor besides the logical reasons, I dun know.tanzyjac:
...then there was this female neighbour who threw her 2 young boys out of opposite block's corridor, then jumped down herself.... and then old man jumped down from our flat, another old folk died in his house for no reason... and I also witnessed a dying neighbour being stabbed by his older bro...

Talking abt furniture...In my last job, there used to be an old sofa placed a few metres away facing my desk, which I never sat on. Gave me this funny feeling that something was there starring at me while I was working at my desk...but...some guests did sometimes sit on it...2 yrs later we moved out (cos' HDB wanted to pull down the flat). We dismanted 2 double decker beds and took one to our new house...
...so scary... after I dismanted the bed and threw it away the next day, the experience stop.
Anyway, while I was working late one day, I heard someone taking out a file and flipping through the pages outside my office. I assumed it was a colleague who was also working late. It went on for quite a while and the sound was quite loud. I decided to take a look and went out of my room, passing by that colleague’s cubicle. The sound sort of stopped when I stepped out and there was no one around! Just then, the colleague came in and when I asked whether she was the one flipping the pages, she said she wasn’t around as she went out to get something all this while! :!:
On my last day at the company, when it was time for me to leave, it suddenly started raining cats and dogs, and something happened which forced me to stay longer than expected. A colleague even joked that “it” didn’t want me to leave too so created all these to make me stay longer! -

I just joined this company in Kallang. The company used to occupy the whole of 2 top floors in a JTC factory. When I joined, most of the departments have already relocated to the main office in another estate, only the department I worked in and HR office left. My department used to be quite big, catered to about 15 pepole but most of them have moved out leaving 5 of us around. Each of us has our own workstation surrounded by U-shaped cubicle about 1.5m tall partition tall.
There is one cubicle behind me. Another facing the entrance to my cubicle. There was this day when my \"fatty\" colleague opposite mine was on leave. In the late afternoon, I saw this skinny lady in white gown flipping thru my colleague's file. I didn't dare to shout at her to stop, so I called on my another collegue's whose workstation was behind mine. She came to my cubicle, when I told her, she turned to face that cubicle but didn't see anyone there. When she turned back to talk to me, this white figure stood at my cubicle's entrance and stared at me. Her face was very pale, the moment I screamed, she dissappeared.
My colleague knew something was wrong and we asked for permission to leave the office earlier that day. We went to the HR department and told one of the colleagues there... She said she had heard that there was this femaile colleague who could not take the stress from her superiors so she jumped down from that building.
I was then on sick leave for the next few days... for whatever reason I forgotten... but maybe I just didn't want to go back that office again. I quit a week later. -
