I am current NJC student and a friend of mine was rejected by my school at first but appealed successfully with the same score last year. Nevertheless, very good luck to your daughterMy dd scored 255+2HMT, 3A* and an A. She still wants to try for NYGH, RGS, NJC, followed by St Nics.
Seems so risky - I would happily settle for St Nics, as it will be walking distance from our home when the sch move back in 2012. But she still wants to try! But I'm thankful for her results, as she is the cool as cucumber type

Chinese loh. HCL is merit. Already very happy tt she got A for CL as all along, she's band2 for CL and took up HCL in P5 (as EMS band 1) - struggled a lot in P5, thank God P6 HCL tr very dedicated - have extra lessons at 6.45am on weekdays, plus 2 other days of supp in the pm/Sat. She worked hard along with the tr and saw improvement and was very encouraged. Should say she worked the hardest for Chinese.
wow, 3A* and A , and the aggre is 255...... May i know what subject did u get an A?pecalis:

She has a good friend who also had 3A* but an A for English, T-score is 259! So better to do well in Chinese. Another good friend also scored 255 but 2A* and 2As -
Hi!
I checked with a parent in Nanyang whose child is in P6. She say the top scorer in Nanyang is 272 from GEP! Highest in mainstream is 271! CONFIRM!!
Any news from Rulang??

Thank you! Would put NYGH as 1st choice but bit risky - can only try if lucky enough, reckon her score is more close to the COP of NJC/DHS. DHS campus is brand new, NJC campus is too old. DHS offer High Chinese where NJC don't. However some people say Junior colleague of NJC is better than DHS. Hard to decide
Sorry to interrupt but NJC do offer Higher Chinese as stated in a news article in the school's website. http://njc.edu.sg/index.php?option=news&task=article&id=160MooMoo:
My daughter got 260+3, seems can try NJC or DHS, which one is better?

First of all, congratulations to your daughter for the achievement.
Just curious, why NYGH is not one of the choices? After all, NJC and NYGH are just next to each other. I don't think the +3 is applicable to NJC.
Anyway, do research thoroughly before making the decision. Cheers!
It is in fact a compulsory subject (as in, every student has to take Higher Mother Tongue, not like some schools whereby only the 'better' students are given the chance to take). -
I am a student of NYPS and I got 270. The highest in NYPS is not 272, but 276. And the cut-off pt is 263 for NYGH

275 is the top score from Rulang
May I ask from which class?
Thanks. -
My son is from SJIJ and got 238 which is the cut off for SJI.
However, we are thinking of trying for Nan Hua (COP 242), or AHS (COP 240) or CCHS (COP 236) as his first choice. Shld we try??
:?: -
Congratulations!!!!! U must be from GEP.
Would like to reiterate, COP 263 (for NYGH) is last year's score.
Thanks!CHEERS08:
