Choose those schools that can really add value to your kid's 0-level score. The details can be found in the secondary posting booklet. As for choices if your kid T-score is 242, the cop of first choice should not be higher than 244, second choice should be within your kid's T-score.
Thanks for your explanation. It's really useful.

experiencedmother:

Cedar COP most likely to increase this year (2010: 246) due to the new joint IP with VJC. Chung Cheng Main would be a less risky choice in my opinion.

But most importantly, it depends on where you stay. No point going to a good school that is too far away. Time spent on travelling can be put to better use.
25hourmaid:
Cedar is good but a bit risky considering that their COP was 246 last year and I can forsee a lot of girls would try to get into Cedar considering their soon-to-be IP status.

CCHM is quite safe for a score of 244.
thanks for the advices.. πŸ™

maybe CCHMS is not a bad idea...

My DD got 239 ...am thinking if we should risk putting CEDAR as her first choice? She was really upset and cried so bad this morning as she was so hopeful about making it to CEDAR...

Currently other options under consideration are :
Chung Cheng High Main
Xin Min
Nan Chiau
Presbyterian High

Any advice?????? :?
My preference:
Nan Chiau (solid school leader and the school just got the SAP status) - shd be able to get into Nan Chiau but their COP may increase this year because of the SAP status.
Xin Min (proven track record)
Chung Cheng High (Main) (another good school)
PHS (not too sure but heard some negative feedback in KSP forum)

I have a T score of 254 (+1)

Will I have a chance to get into DHS, considering I have a GE status and that the COPs would be lower this year?

PS: I have EESIS.
I think it's the GEP scholarship not EESIS.

Is it confirmed that 260 is COP for EESIS?

Heard Bukit Batok not bad, I'm not too sure about the COP though.

How about Yuhua, Fuhua or Westwood?
You may not be able to get into Fuhua with 224. Their COP was around 234-236. Last year COP was 229 (one or two pupils).
There are limited schools with T-score 210 for Express class. Anybody here would like to share your advice? I really don't wish to put my child in a lousy school. Can I appeal to opt for normal class in Good school? Teacher told me I cannot as result stated \"Express\" 😒

First thing first, where do you stay? West, etc etc? Not all schools with a COP of 210++ is a lousy school. In my experience, I'm in a T-score 210++ school, and my class/school mates are one of the most hardworking people I've ever seen, it really depends on the individual.

area- Bishan, AMK or Toa Payoh. Sorry, please don't feel offended. I mean I need school with less \"ah beng\". After seeing news on gang fights, I'm worried.
You can try Deyi Sec. But not too sure about their COP.

you should go for nan chiau... it'll be moe's 11th SAP school w.e.f. 2012 and it's a band 1 school this year. i foresee more amazing things coming from this school in the years to come. imho, xinmin is on the road to decline. the incoming principal is from a lower ranking sec sch and the school has been slipping down rankings as it is. no offence eh, just my opinion.

Could you advise more about Nan Chiau? I heard some unfavourable feedback on this school.
Nan Chiau's current principal is also leaving...will it follow XinMin's decling route?

What unfavourable feedback have you heard about NCHS? I'm also considering selecting this school.
