Thank atutor2010, you are so nice... :thankyou: :lovesite:
If there is no change, the scores should be :ctct61t:
Thank atutor2001, it's very clearly explained my question...do you know what the A*, A, B, C...score is?
A* > 91
A 75 - 90
B 60 - 74
C 50 - 59
D 35 - 49
E 20 - 34
U < 20 -
The scores of A*, A etc…DOES NOT vary with T-scores.
-
Can anybody clarify with me Why the table G-1 on the booklet does not include all sch? There are only 66 schools on that list, but there are totally 160+ schools, I understand there are some IP schools should be excluded, but still meet that gap. Thanks.
I need to know the Band level for the target school. -

Yes, but while the ranges mentioned by atutor are right, there could be some moderation done to the range ... -
I don’t quite understand. If grades are not moderated, won’t everyone get a poor grade when the exams are tough and As when exams are easy?
-
i dont see scgs on the list :? .
any idea how the school fare in psle? -

Hi, My son got A* for Maths, A for English and A for Science.. based on the worst case scenerio he should be getting 240, however he only returned a 230 by MOE. He is exempted from MT..

Need advise as to should I appeal ..becos the 10 pionts make a huge difference in school application.
Thanks all -

I think the method for computation of aggregate T-score for students taking 3 subjects is different from those taking 4 subjects.

Based on A*, A & A, the \"worst-case\" total raw score is 241, giving an average of 80.3 marks per subject and an average of 59.42 T-score per subject.
With only 3 subjects, the total T-score will be only 59.42 x 3 = 178.26, which cannot be used to compare with other students whose aggregate T-score is based on the total of 4 subjects.
My guess is that since MT is exempted, MOE will award a T-score of 50 (which is the equivalent of getting the average mark) for MT. So the modified T-score for comparison with those with 4 subjects will be 178.26 + 50 = 228.26, which is quite near to your son's T-score (i.e. his raw-scores are better than the worst case scenario)
Hope my guess makes sense. -

I'd like to offer an alternative view to yours. I know of several students who are exempted from mother tongue. All of them did far better than expected at PSLE. Based on our rough calculations, it would appear that their t-score was calculated based on the 3 subjects alone, and not with an average MT score added in.

All subjects at PSLE are accorded ‘equal weighting’ in the sense that the aggregate score is the sum of all the t-scores without any extra ‘bias’ or ‘weighting’ assigned to any subject.
For students with no MTL (exempted), the aggregate is computed by multiplying by 4/3 so that the three remaining subjects will now have the ‘weight’ of 4 subjects.
