Hi,
I've decided to enroll my son to galilee kindergarten after a hard decicision between JCK & galilee.I requested the principal frm JCK to bring me round the school but she turn me down & told me tat they do not hv orientation on mid yr & galilee principal was indeed very nice, she bring me round the school & after the orintation i registered my son.Hope my decision is rite.
I chose GK is b'coz is near my working plc & i find that the kids are quite active. Can see that my son is enjoying there & the teachers & principal are friendly.School fees is $390(per term)& computer lesson is $90(per term)for K1.Hope this wil help! -
Hi,
For enrichment at JCK, are they held after the 3 hour session or during class time? What is the timing for nursery classes? -
Hi,
Anyone with some feedback on my query above...i.e. does JCK conduct any enrichments after the 3-hour session?
Thanks  -
Hi, can anyone advise…is the uniform for JCK for gals those dress kind or shirt/shorts or shirt/skirt kind?'
Thanks! -
hi, perhaps, I can help to answer a couple of queries on JCK.
First of all, they do conduct enrichment classes in chinese drama, art, kindermusik, computing. My boy attended a term on chinese drama that was conducted on every sat morning. But stopped after a term cos found that he was very tired to attend so many enrichment. However, he is very happy in JCK. The kindy emphasis a lot on moral and character development which i feel that this is pretty important.
As for the girl’s uniform, it’s dress type. If not wrong, it’s sleeveless.
Weekly spelling will start for K1 kids for both english and chinese. There are weekly homework too for them. Regular outings are conducted and they will have sports day too.
Overall, it’s a good kindy and very structured. My boy will be going onto K2 next year and my gal onto Nursery. -
Dear mummies,
My gal is born nov 2008. I am keen to register her with JCK and if she is unsucessful then will register her at JCC.
Was told that registration is next year FEB 2011, my gal is suppose to take the 2012 intake.
Fyi, me staying at Taman Jurong…hence should be convient.
Anyone know how to increase chance of getting into JCK? me not a church member thou. Haizzz -
Hi mehx2,
Usually the morning session will be filled up first…I registered my gals for Nursery next year in Feb this year and was quite lucky to get the last 2 slots available after priority goes to the siblings and church members. Perhaps you can try to call the school on the last day of the registering date for siblings/church members and check if they are still slots for the public. In fact, that was what I did and the principal says if I can go to the school right away before 12pm, I will get the last 2 slots…happen my hubby was on leave, so ask him to rush down to pay the deposit.
Hi lakesidemum,
Thanks for your sharing…my gals will also be in Nursery next year. They will be taking the school bus. Read from the previous pages that you had wanted to sign up jelic for your ds…is he doing that now? any feedback on maths enrichments as I am also considering that now…
Many thanks! -

Hi, what I know is that there will be balloting conducted for the public intake, meaning those without existing sibling in the school. It really depend on your luck.Dear mummies,

Oh hi, great to hear that your gal will also be in JCK next year, mine will be in N3 class as I have opt for her to be in the 2nd session. She is not able to wake up early. What about yours? In the 1st or 2nd session? My kids will be taking the school bus too.Hi mehx2,
Hi lakesidemum,

As for Jelic, no I did not sign him up then, but I just signed him up for MPM maths and my gal in Jelic, starting next Jan. They are going for the branch at JE. My boy went for the diagnostic test and my gal for the trial. Apparently, they are quite excited about the course. -
Hi lakesidemum,
My gals are in N2, they are early birds since birth (can’t sleep past 7am plus…)and that’s why I got to make sure that they can get into the morning session…by 1-2pm, they will need their nap…your gal not napping anymore?
I am considering to go for trial at JE too…but got to arrange on weekday evening since their weekend mornings are occupied, but then worried that they will not get enough sleep since they need to wake up early the next day…
btw, do you intend to sign up your gal for the speech and drama enrichment at JCK? do you find it good? the price is pretty attractive though.
Time and $$$ is limited, so still scratching head what is necessary and what is good to have…based on what your ds has gone through so far, do you find the curriculum good enough or academic enrichments are still needed? I am more concerned about maths now as I find that my gals tend to be weaker in grasping maths concepts compared to language development…
Thanks for your sharing again…
