COP will rise for schools to turn IP soon:
Victoria, Cedar, Catholic High, St Nic, SJI & MGS.

Closer challengers that not considered for IP, the COP will drop:
Anglican high, Cresent Girls & Katong Girls, .....

It have a much longer illustrious history. Most overseas university are familair with the RI/RJC brand and they know that it stands of excellence.

But then Peking and Tsinghua university are more familiar with HCI. Yes...of course people will say how can Peking and tsinghua compare to Harvard and Cambridge. My view is that the era of western domination is coming to an end, how much longer can it still last, I don't know but it is ending....Who knows that in 10-20 years times, Peking and Tsinghua may be top university in the world and Harvard and Ivy leagues may slowly lost their lustre.....I know I kept repeating this theme but it is just my opinion and one way of looking at thing.[/quote]
If you look at the world best ranked universities, the top 10 universities are IVY LEAGUE + oxbridge universites. THe Raffles brand team excel here.

and I think RI is till considered the top school in Singapore by Singaporeans and in the world. HCI is not bad too, but it just cannot compare to RI in prestige.

Ok, I will put 1st - Maris Stella, still working out the other 5 schools..

Do you think it make sense to put the following for my ds's score of 234 :

1st - Maris Stella
2nd - SJI
3rd - St Andrew or Fairfield ?
4th - Commonwealth
5th - Clementi Town
6th - ??

My goodness, where are you located? :? Sorry, but your choices are like North, South, East, West and my personal opinion is that you are wasting your 2nd choice by putting in SJI. No, not that you cannot try for SJI, but with a T-score of 234 and you are unable to get into Maris Stella with a COP of 232 last year, what's your chance of getting into SJI with a COP of 241 last year? :?

Also I believe you are aware that Fairfield's COP was 240 last year and Commonwealth was 237?

My dd score 223, we are at lost what to put on the schoo choice since she wants to go to JC on later years.


My choices so far is Gan Eng Seng - we live in Tiong Bahru. Any suggestion please.

On the subject of appeal, your view is identical as mine. Many hve underestimated the stress that comes with it. Vast majority ends up frustrated.

I know my choices look weird. This is because he wants to go SJI initially, but i told him with 234 is difficult, then he said can appeal. But to appeal i need to put SJI as one of the choice and not too far behind, am i right ? But like what Innovate said, long waiting list, i doubt his chances of getting in.

And I do not want to him to miss his chance of going into Maris Stella. So my intention is to get him in to Maris Stella first, then appeal to SJI (though i know is very slight chance).

Yes, commonwealth is in one of the option.

Really at a lost of how to arrange the options with such a score
