Hi. I am not an insider of the school. I know daisyt in this KSP forum has adaughter in RV. She will be very willing to help with your question. Contact her in other thread in IP schools parent support and preparation.

The only thing I know about RV is that they just got a big brand new campus at Boon Lay. You should bring your son/daughter there and take a look. My opinion is that you should only choose one of HCI, NJC and DHS as first choice and put RV or ACSI as second choice.[/quote]HI

For those who intend to opt for this school as top choice, your T-score should not be lower than 244 and prepares for appeal. The wait list is long and school is fussy in its slections. Please make sure your 2nd choice should be schools with at least 1 pt lower than dd’s score.

My son score 235 and my wife is very disappointed with his results (at a pt she would not want to know what Sec sch he is going to choose now .. sigh)

Anyway, I would appreciate if anyone could help me to see if the following choices are OK:

1st: Chung Cheng (Main)
2nd: St. Andrew
3rd Tanjong Katong Secondary

Is it OK to try for SJI?

Tell your wife that 235 is a good score. It is already above national average. Believe the national average hovers aroung 230 every year, plus and minus.

From your choices, I figured that you are somewhere in the East. How about Maris Stella and Nan Chiau? Both are within your score.

I would say 235 is a bit risky for SJI. Their COP was 241 last year, but yet I have heard of people appealing and entering with 231 a few years back.

Nan Chiau would be a good choice DD is from Nan Chaiu and took her O levels this year. I must say the teachers there is really motivated and would never hesitate to stay back after school hours to teach them. It was also the school that helped her gain back her confidence despite scoring a score she never expected at PSLE ( she espected a 24o and above).DD hated that school last time, but after 4 years there, she finds it the best choice she ever made in life. Besides, NCHS is now a Band 1 school going SAP in 2012.

In yr case you can try and place Cresent Girls as second choice.

Go to SCGS' office and register yr dd's interest. Yr case is special as yr dd has strong dance foundation and plays squash-traits that SCGS is looking for. Anw, Crecent is aslo pretty good.

or it can be done anytime now ?

Apparently, some sch like SJII allow appeal to be in by 2nd Dec.

What's this abt going to the sch and register your interest? A friend strongly encouraged me to do tt too..?? You mean you'll be given priority as you show great interest and commitment by your presence?

Appeal can be done now. However, result will only be known after s1 posting results. In yr dd’s case, school will conduct a trial either dance or squash depending on their needs.

Understand yr deliema as u can only place Cedar, St. Nicks or SCGS as 1st choice. That makes yr 2nd choice critical hence my suggestion to place Crescent as yr no 2.

Its only registration of interest. School has an appeal committee to consider all appeal candiates after the closing date. Its never a first come priority.

Hi my daughter scores 247 with merit in HML, if we put cedar as first choice,(last year 246) any change to get in, do we need to write appeal letter now.


Hope can get into Cedar, i understand this year, most of the student scores quite good. may be the cut off point will goes up.
