Yeah, it looks like top 10% starts from 249 then. If that's the case, there won't really be much of a drop in COP for top schools, since top 10% for last year was 248(even lower than this year's). There may not be any drop in COP scores for Top schools as such. At most, only 1 or 2 point drop, or none at all.

Based on Wikipedia, the lowest COP for SAP schools is 250. (not sure whether it's true)

So if it is true, RVHS can only drop 1 more point.

My son 253, can go IP, but if choose CHS, EESIS will not exist. If 3rd year proceed to a IP school, is he still eligible for EESIS? Anyone can help? Thanks

Taking into account the top 3% COP drops 1 point to 260. Plus a slight decrease in PLSE student, 3492. This works out to less 100 student from top 3% students. This means more vacancies for those from 259 onwards in the top schools.

Since the papers are easier this year, we should expect as the T-score gets lower, the no. of students gets bigger. So the bulk of the students in the 3% to 10% will be at the 254~249 bracket.

My guess is those schools whose last year COP T-score is 254 and below will see an increase of 1 to 3 points. While those tops schools whose T-score is above 254 last year will see a drop in of 1 to 3 points.

I think there will be some that have A* and within the top 30% that might be offered. Not sure the exact criteria. But definitely those within top 10% would be offered HCL even if they only had A in CL.

But I really find that the long analysis is redundant because it arrived at a conclusion that is trivial

According to a normal distribution, the number of sample is always the highest at the median, above that median the sample size drops off and below that the sample size also drops off. Therefore, without any analysis, I can already conclude that from the median t-score which could be 22+ to 282, the sample size just gets smaller and smaller at higher and higher t-score. So it easy to deduce that 249-254 will have a larger sample size than 255-259. Similarly, 244-249 will have a larger sample size than 249-254. It is just the characteristic of a normal distribution curve not anything particular to this batch of psle students.
