Hi Vanilla Cake,
For this two questions, Q2 (Q70) dd’s answer same with the answer key.
Q1 (Q66), she also got it different. Her answer was:
Much to Ben’s delight, he did not expect his parents to buy him a puppy.
Let’s hope to hear from the rest.
Thank you -
Much to Ben's delight, he did not expect his parents to buy him a puppy.
It is wrong because in this sentence there's nothing to tell the reader that his parents bought Ben a puppy. In fact, when I read it the first time I thought that Ben was delighted because he did not expect his parents to buy him a puppy.
how rebellious is Lily's son
When you write this way, you are writing it as if it is a question. But it is not a question, therefore your sister is wrong...
Much to Ben's delight, his parents bought him a puppy that he did not expect.
Don't know about this, it should be grammatically correct, but when I read it out, it sounds \"weird\". -

What aboutQ2
Lily's son is rebellious. She still loves him.
No matter .....................................................................................................................
Answer given
No matter how rebellious Lily's son is, she still loves him.
Answer by my P5 younger sister
No matter how rebellious is Lily's son, she still loves him.
No matter how rebellious her son is, Lily still loves him. -
hi starlight,
your answer is correct as well...
However, VC's sister's answer is wrong.
As she had placed the \"is\" before \"sister\", it becomes a wrong placing of words, thus resulting in a more Singlish, yet incorrect method of writing.
Hope I helped!

starlight1968sg:
Perhaps the model ans is \"more correct\" because I have made an assumption that the \"she\" in \"she still loves him\" is Lily.

Hi!
How about this one?
I had to pay the fine. Otherwise, I would have lost my license.
