dd1 always thinks that I am scribbling when I sign. I always explain to her that the 'scribbling' is in fact my signature.

she insists that it is not a signature, but a 'scribblature'

That's the coolest word I've heard in my whole year... \"Scribblature\"

I feel like changing my moniker name to that 😉

Just did a quick Google of scribblature. Here's the definition:

noun, 1) One's name written illegibly by oneself, esp for the purpose of confirming identity [ironic].

                2) The act of writing one's name illegibly, esp medical profession.

Mebbe your DD1 is trying to suggest something, ImMeeMee 😉 :rotflmao:

oh my, i didnt realize that the word actually exists!! thanks muffins for the research!

according to wiki, the definition of a signature:

'A signature (from Latin signare, \"to sign\") is a handwritten (and sometimes stylized) depiction of someone's name ...'

come to think of it, 'scribblature' may be a more appropriate depiction when we mean 'signature', cos it is our name that is written by ourselves, as a form of our identity, and is most of the time illegible. ref the google definition of scribbalture:

                  1) One's name written illegibly by oneself, esp for the purpose of confirming identity

I reminded my son to put some powder after his shower…he was supposed to see a doctor for a review done. I said, ‘Put some powder so you smell nicer’. He asked me, ‘What for ? Any discount if I smell nicer ?’
