      MummyThreeStreams:
My boys are 6 and 3. They go to bed in their own room, but we have an open door policy, so they are welcome to snuggle in with us anytime. Their visits get less frequent as they grow older.

However, I'm now in my final trimester of pregnancy and it's just too crazy for one Queen sized bed to accommodate the 4 + 1 of us. So we encourage them to come into our bed only when the sun is up. Of course, this doesn't stop all the middle of the night visits, but at least it has come down a bit, and we still get to cuddle them first thing in the morning.
I've given up asking them to sleep in their own rooms...bcos they must have the air con and it's expensive having 3 units of air con turned on. So we all bunk in one room, with daughter and I sharing super/single, son on another mattress and hubby on sofa bed. When they snore, I switch off the air con.

        This is interesting...

Both my DD and DS started sleeping in their own super single bed since 7mths old. We all sleep in master bedroom. Our queen size bed is placed in-between their mattress. Kids can't sleep next to each other, their sleeping posture is messy (sleep at every corner of the bed) which they might even sleep on top of us in the middle of the night.
There was once my hubby got kicked on his cheek by DD right after he had his wisedom tooth extracted! :!:

Glad to know I am not alone, so many parents let their kids sleep on the same bed with them!

My 3.5 yo boy has been sleeping with us since young. Dunno how to move him and don't think he will be able to sleep alone. Because he is super-sensitive, many times when I try to creep out of bed (at night going loo or morning waking up), he would almost immediately wake up and once he found me gone (even though my husband still sleeping!), will jump out of bed looking for me and sometimes kicking up a fuss!

Definitely not fighting this battle at the moment!
            😉

My kids have been sleeping in the same room as us since they were babies. Don't know how to move them bcos they will know. Given up getting them to sleep in own room...other reason is bcos they must have air con or they won't sleep. To save electricity costs, we all bunk in one room.

My 2 sons slept with us from young. Finally managed to move them into their own room. It’s good being to sleep without getting kicked or crushed during the nights. This is one of the good bits having 2 kids - they give courage to each other to sleep in their room.

Yes, I have 2 girls, once the older one was ready by 6, the younger one was also willing to go to their shared room. Phew!

Wow, ok. First of all, I would never presume to tell another parent how to be a parent. IMO, there is no hard rule or a particular age that works for all kids.

But with that aside, I am surprised that "never" is not an option on the poll.

My kids have never slept in my bed. That’s not to say that you couldn’t or shouldn’t have your kids sleep in a bed with you if that works best for them… but it has never been necessary for my kids (they have never gotten upset or complained about it, even when they were newborns).

I choose to sleep whenever I want with my parents. This applies only to the weekends, public holidays’ eve and school holidays. Sometimes its me and my mother, me and my mother or me and either one of my sisters. Us five all sleep in the same room once in a while. Two on the king bed, three on mattresses (not the makeshift ones, though…)

Why I somtimes sleep with my parents? Honestly, its simply to bond. I could sleep perfectly fine on my own, but I love them alot. Seriously.
