We are gonna fetch him to and fro, at least for the first few months and gauge how troublesome it is gonna be. If we cannot tahan, then it would be 2-way school bus hahaha.
So exciting… 2 more weeks to go…
BTW, I didn’t get the phone card. So guess I would have to save all my 10-cent coins for him.
Anyone knows where the coin phone is located? I only saw the card phone at the canteen. -

Yes, I am excited too. Am thinking is it so important to have coins or phonecard? I believe the office will surely allow the kids to call if there is an emergency right? Anyway, my DS still doesn't know how to make phonecall yet. Must teach him.We are gonna fetch him to and fro, at least for the first few months and gauge how troublesome it is gonna be. Cherrygal, how do u intend to drive to school from Shunfu? Which way is better in your opinion? I have two options. Go via AMK Ave 1 or Braddell Rd. If go via AMK Ave 1, shd we turn right Lor Chuan into Serangoon or continue to go straight? There is just so many ways to get there but we are not sure which way to go. Maybe we shd ask the bus driver since they shd know better? :? -
may i ask, i saw a side gate at bartley mrt bus stop. does it lead to the sch? the facade along the mrt is it the pri or sec section?
the side next to mt vernon / aljunied, is it pri or sec section?
is it a long walk from eg sec to pri section? -

Yes, the gate at the bus-stop leads to the school. The building along bartley is the pri section whereas the one at Mt Vernon is the sec section.may i ask, i saw a side gate at bartley mrt bus stop. does it lead to the sch? the facade along the mrt is it the pri or sec section?

The pri and sec sections are just adjacent to each other. The combined school compound is rather big. In what context are you trying to establish whether is it a far walk?
If you are considering walking from the MRT to the school, it is definitely nearer to walk from the MRT to the pri section than to the sec section. However, there is a pathway conveniently sheltered the boys all the way from the side-gate to both the pri section or the sec section. -
thanks. seems like the sch building linkage is all well-designed. sheltered n underground walkway. i’m sure MSH wil be more popular next yr wif the circle line.

just curious, at dismissal time, r the parents supp to wait outside the side gaten or are they allowed to enter the sch to wait for the boy eg at canteen?
where does that temple-like facade entrance along bartley lead to? sec or pri section? ie the main entrance
are the kids allowed to keep textbks in sch? got locker? -

bigfoot - my fren who drives tell me NOT to do the Uturn route (coming down from opp school - Bartley Rd) cos nobody is going to let you signal and cut in as the car queue stretches for quite a distance.

I've received my school bus call liao!! Going to be 2 way since mrg pickup is a difference of 15mis (between taking bus and driving - we targetted to leave hse at 630pm). But first day i think we will fetch him down ourselves. Am getting dh to park at Serangoon HDB carpark and then take MRT one stop down...
What's your plan for first day? -
Shouldn't be a problem u-turning. I've been driving that route for a year and found it manageable even at peak hour in the morning. The cars can't move anyway so i just inch out lor
But, yeah, prepare for bad traffic the first week :D. It's definitely a good idea to park and take the mrt.
Btw, the boys usually wear their ties on Mondays unless they are in PE attire. -

Parents wait at the side gate if the boys walk out. If you want to drive in to pick up, they wait outside the general office, but cars aren't allowed in until the sch buses drive off, so it's a pretty long wait for them.just curious, at dismissal time, r the parents supp to wait outside the side gaten or are they allowed to enter the sch to wait for the boy eg at canteen?

Do be careful with all the cars double or even triple parked along the road outside the side gate. They even park at the bus stop and it can be chaotic and dangerous for the boys. And watch out for the traffic police who drop by once in a while due to complaints by irate drives.
